We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

I had a Peter Reid and Mark Hughes in my year and a Bryan Ryan in year above.

Things I like about this:

- scored 15 goals for them in the SPL, also making the divisional team of the year.

- the 6ft 3ins striker also netted seven of his 15 goals with his head

- he can be the focal point Bolton’s attack lacked at times last season.

- He also had the second-highest number of aerial duels won per game by any striker in the SPL last term

Was just saying the same things in WhatsApp. You can’t argue he seems something different to any of our current forwards. This alone seems a good thing.

I've heard were in for Louie Barry.

You’re talking my language mate! You could have stopped at 6ft 3 though and I’d have been happy 😂 - our team of giants is on its way!

Said the other week when it first surfaced he'd do for me as a signing, for all those reasons and, on a free, hardly a rash gamble

Plenty of the young and brainless section of Twitter rubbishing him before he's through the door (hadn't scored many before last season and that's a farmers league, blah blah) but if he scores a similar amount for us and his general play helps others hit the net he'll be value enough

5ft 11, but he’s a left back so I’ll let him off. He’s tall enough for my team

My only nervousness on this is that I’m unsure an adult should be called Matty

Can't imagine he'd cost much

Under 5' 10".

Got to trust the new regime though i doubt we will sign both Roughan and Jacob if we are going to keep Conway

Roughan has over 100 lge appearances at 22 years of age and played every min of every game last season.

He would come on a free.

Jacob is two years older at 24 only managed 22 appearances be it in the championship, Had injury concerns and would command a fee........Am i missing something?

The only thing that concerns me about Matty Jacob is that he looks like he's receding and he's only 24, just don't want opposing fans taking the piss out of him as this will no doubt affect his confidence.

I know nothing about Jacobs but if he signs I hope he's a cracker of a player

Likewise or Dalby, only thing i know is we have neither a Natural left back or old fashioned centre forward

So both give us options we currently do not have.

Is he Wayne’s son. If so we are in for a treat

these are bad signings

I saw a helicopter fly over the reebok yesterday.   Make of that what you will.

I've got two nephews who are called Matts and Jacob.

Can only be a good sign.

Should get his brother Marc as well, he's got a scent for goal

Those two would see a steady a scent up the league

I'm kind of in on to the Dalby signing now. 6 ft 3, holds the ball up well. Can play on his own or with a partner. Free transfer with reasonable wages. Ticks the boxes. He does need service to score though. Good balls in to the box. I think it depends on the wide players we sign as to whether he's a success.

There is goals in this team with Mcatee and Collins and potentially Dalby. Mcatee and Collins will both suit playing off him too. People can slag off Mcatee till they are blue in the face but he got double figures without really hitting top form. Colilns is a 15 goal plus league 1 forward.

Wingers next please fergal. Wingers and some proper centre Halfs. Annoys me that Blackpool got that Horsfall from Stockport. Fucking good league 1 defender him. On a free too.
