We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

No chance of Vic being fully fit this season, and even at his best he was bang average.

I think he's played his last game for us. Unless something disastrous happens with Dalby and the 2x new strikers, and even then we'd probably just sign someone else new in January.

Jesus, what’s he done, lost a leg or something? I don’t actually know what his injury is, just assumed he’d be back around Christmas.

I also agree that he’s shit, and definitely not one to lead a 1 man attack. Just thought I’d move it on from CMG.

That's what he did at Burton. I think the only time in his career he's played in the middle on his own.

Scored 13 in half a season, enough to convince us to splaff the Dapo money on him.

I think he'll be 'back' by the end of January. But with no pre-season and without having played a game in nearly a year.

If nothing else he's a top athlete so who knows. But there seems to be a bit of a tendency to assume players are either injured or fit to play with no in-between. Most players who suffer that bad of an injury are not going to be capable of their best until the following season.

Which is another reason why I'd give a bit more leeway to CMG, and I think GJ will be better this season too now he's a couple of years removed from his ACL.

When we put balls in the box he scored. Sadly we didn’t play that way so he was wasted. Another one for the football guru that is Evatt to explain

Seem to recall that game against Fleetwood(?) when he bagged a hat trick. 3 goals coming starting from wide positions.

I’ve always said GT is decent. I’ve never got the abuse he gets. Any negative comments for GT have been tongue in cheek. if saying I don’t rate him helps you feel better about making up CMG’s ability then go for it

As pointed out below that was an error & it was Horwich. My apologies.

So you'll just have to be wrong without context.

I hope i am wrong and he’s brilliant for us.

Very sorry to lose George but we can do a lot with that money so hopefully that’s now confirmed and out of the way we can get on with bringing in our targets starting with one of the two strikers mentioned.

Fair play to the lad. Amazing progression from the kid that turned up from non-league a few years ago.

His attitude is clearly brilliant and he’s improved hugely. I can’t say I see what others (and other clubs clearly) see that warrants a step up in division, and so for that it goes down as a brilliant bit of business for us in my eyes, but I hope he goes on to do well and prove me wrong.

Now spend the money wisely!

Good luck to him

He never failed to give it his all and he made the most of the opportunity he was given

Best of luck to the lad for a good future career.

Little bit sad about it tbh.

He genuinely cared the lad.

Hope he smashes his next chapter.

Aye, he's got himself a step up and no doubt a decent pay rise. Good luck to him, I really hope he proves the doubters wrong.

Aye. But at the same time, it feels like the last bit of the Evatt era has been rinsed out. Sort of. Weird.

Yeah good luck GT you gave your all time to move on.

7 of the players who started first game of last season are no longer with the club.

Good luck to him but the idea 12 months ago him Baxter santos Iredale Dion and Collins would all be gone is mad.

Arfield less of a shock

Might be a idea to still register him though then if he is fit before end of Jan we have the option of selecting him it looks like we will have plenty of squad places

Strange one, a step up in league, but going to a much smaller, but well financed club. Not sure he will be a fixture.
