Zico Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Sheffield united message board had a 3 page thread on clough sad cunts, Don't blame them It's all about automatic promotion They know we just got weaker and that 7 point gap got bigger Quote
Spider Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Why undisclosed? Most are nowadays, they don't have to tell anyone. Quote
tarian1979 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 He's not improving himself there in the slightest. Very disappointed. he is if we dont go up this yesr as we'll be nothing side in this league and maybe even a Portsmouth relegates to league 2 before we are champ again. Should of been kept til summer. Sell then fine. No matter what league in we always lose players for bog average money. A quarter of what chartlkn got for their promising kid. Get walked all over when Selling players Quote

jules_darby Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) promotion race is done. No one is getting to top two. Zero chanceZero chance? I'd hate to be in the trenches with you! Been thinking overnight and with no Clough/Sammy, this season could literally go either way depending on these signings. Big gamble but if we go up PP/KA deserve massive credit for the decision making. We were stalling so the changes excite me! I think we'd hit play offs at worst whatever they did in the transfer window so with us ending up net financially and gaining a goalscorer and 2 more forwards for Clough I think true moves we made are entirely understandable. stevieb Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 If you think there's some weapons on here have a scan of the comments under the fb official club post on Clough leaving. Had to stop after about 20 comments. Quote
birch-chorley Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Defo no Sammy then? Fucked if I know how it all works, I always thought the loan window was longer than transfer window? strange how all the striker moves worked out. Proctor linked with Pompey and Bradford but ended up at Carlisle who's leading scorer went to Bradford. Pompey ended up getting the lad that we were linked with from PNE. Quote
tarian1979 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Proctor is in the correct league now. Seen enough of him first time I saw him v Bradford at home. Dogshit Quote
Kane57 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Is he gonna play 4 4 2 do we think He'll have to Quote
birch-chorley Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Who are the two? Are all these other lads wingers then? I.e the Fleetwood and Brum lads Quote
tarian1979 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 It needs be 4 4 2 cos if it's same formation but Henry and a birm loanee in for ameobi and clough we'll score nowhere enough. Quote
Eddie Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) It needs be 4 4 2 cos if it's same formation but Henry and a birm loanee in for ameobi and clough we'll score nowhere enough. I also thought the transfers suggested 442, Henry and the brum lad wide, Madine and Le Fondre up top but it leaves the same problem we always have of getting overrun in centre mid. I'd like to think it would be Spearing and Vela, but Spearing and Thorpe would probably be the safest bet - which then makes you wonder where our (possible) player of the season goes. Forgot about Long - we've actually got some options Quote
birch-chorley Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) Do we really need to keep playing Madine? His hold up play isn't even that clever, let alone the fact he is a shambles in front of goal Is ALF for Madine with 3 behind (including Vela) that much of a stretch? Edited February 1, 2017 by birch-chorley Quote
superkev Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) We've signed three forward players 2 that are supposed to have a bit of pace and the other a recognised scorer. We've hardly been setting the goal scoring charts alight, so maybe this freshening up will help. Still think Madine will play though even though he's garbage. Le Fondre was a lone front man last time he played with us so we should try that again Edited February 1, 2017 by superkev Quote
DaveTheRave Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Should of been kept til summer. Sell then fine. Maybe we couldn't wait until summer? I'm sad to see him go but if it keeps us going until we can get rid off some other players in summer it had to be done. ALF will score more between now and the end of season than Clough would. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Why undisclosed? I would think to protect super agent who said Clough going nowhere for 2 million then for 2 bob more he is gone. Sad end to Clough Bolton career shouldn't have been sold for a pittance and it's left me worried about where we're heading as it seems to me he was sold to cover running costs and it's only matter of time until the next fire sale. Quote
tarian1979 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Not many sellable assets left. Fire sale of trotter for 20 quid for example Quote
Morizio Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Some big contracts come to an end this season, it's all about getting to the end of the season, this money from Clough will provide some relief. Next season we should be comparatively much financially healthier. Quote
