I just can't see that happening unless it's a ludicrous offer, especially as we wouldn't have time to get anybody else in

Where doe this type of thing start. Does his agent circulate this to Scunthorpe, suggesting all isn't we or have scunny plucked this out of the sky

If we lose beevers to Scunthorpe we should pack in being a football club.

Aye, because one player is more important than the existence of the Club.

No professional footballer has ever "played for the club". It's a nice feel-good concept, but pure myth. The only people who believe it are permanently infuriated that it doesn't happen.

That's bollocks

I think plenty of players will be playing for no wages in the Chinese Super League. Albeit unintentionally.

Right, full time in all the games tonight, so maybe a lot more deals will be announced in the aftermath of them.

What a mess having a transfer window closing on the same night as a full round of fixtures

Maybe since the maximum wage was abolished, but Nat certainly played "for the club".

Nat wasn't offered double his wage to play at another club...

Is it possible Clough has been out of sorts because he's known for a couple of months that we'd be selling him this month?

No

Cos at 6pm he wasn't going

Matt Le Tissier could've gone to Chelsea

Alan Shearer could've gone to Man Utd

Hmmm

I know football clubs aren't your normal type of business, but Sweaty is as norma as businessman as you'll see.

Maybe he bucks a trend in the game and makes plans, strategies and that type of thing to secure the future of the organisation.

Weird, I know.

So Matt and Alan both spent their entire careers at their first clubs?
