Lostock Whites Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Armstrong, Le Fondre, Ameobi, Morais, Buckley. Suddenly we aren't looking too bad of a team now... Quote
Morizio Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Building nicely and looking good to stay up. Need a number one target man. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Not sure how many squad places are left available now, would expect our quota is almost filled. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Only till janIs there an African Nations Cup in 2018? Quote
Ani Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Strange Newcastle loaning us a player when people on here were saying how we had defaulted on the payments for Ameobi a few months ago. May be they were wrong. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Ken's left his Rolex in Ashley's office as security. Quote
Sweep Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Is there an African Nations Cup in 2018? Next one is Cameroon in 2019 Quote
bwfc2003 Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Not sure how many squad places are left available now, would expect our quota is almost filled. As listed as first team squad on club web site 4 Keepers 7 defenders - Wheater beevers Darby Derik Dervite Taylor Little 9 midfielders - Josh, Taylor, karacan, Buckley, Pratley, Postman, Sammy, Earing and Perry 3 forwards - Alf Madine and Armstrong That gives us 23, which I think was last years limit - PP is trying to offload Amos, and I think Chris Taylor, which frees up 2 spaces for the West Ham lads - to bring anyone else in must put Earing and Parrys place in jeapourdy - unless Ken can work something with the league Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 It'll be a miracle if we can offload Amos A loan at best, we might have to contribute to wages but it would free up a space. Quote
Blondi Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 What's happened to Trotter and Spearing are they fixed up yet? Quote
Marc505 Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Trotter on trial at Scunthorpe He was, but they omitted him from their trip to Austria. Unless they exceeded their excess baggage allowance. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Next one is Cameroon in 2019Shouldn't be a problem extending the loan in January then with no risk of Rafa saying he's lost all his players to Africa. The worry I've got with the Amos situation is that ordinarily he'd take a certain percentage of the remainder of his contract as a pay off to cut his ties and we're rid of him. Not a chance we're finding a lump sum any time soon, nor does he seem likely to ask to be released and therefore waiving his right to a pay off. Quote
Didledee Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) Shouldn't be a problem extending the loan in January then with no risk of Rafa saying he's lost all his players to Africa. We have SA for at least a year and he's not a loan, AA is English. Edited July 17, 2017 by Didledee Quote

I did suspect Armstrong wasn't from Mali. Quote
Whites man Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Strange Newcastle loaning us a player when people on here were saying how we had defaulted on the payments for Ameobi a few months ago. May be they were wrong. Mike Ashley has "last man standing" drinking contests with his business associates. Perhaps Ken could send Youri or Jazza up for the transfer negotiations. Quote
MancWanderer Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Turns out step-daughters boyfriend is good mates with Will Buckley - grew up together in Chadderton Injury problems are hamstring-based. Apparently he's lightning-quick. That combination worries me Quote
Lostock Whites Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 As well as some defenders, I think we need a mark Davies/ zach clough type player in the midfield, prefably one that's not injury prone Last year at times we struggled with spearing, trotter, Derik, in the middle as they weren't very creative. Vela can unlock the door though, but feel like we need more Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Mike Ashley has "last man standing" drinking contests with his business associates. Perhaps Ken could send Youri or Jazza up for the transfer negotiations. Ashleigh is a renowned big jessie - throws his ring up after twelve pints of lager with voddy chasers...I'd come out of retirement to help the Whites and show that plastic geordie fat poof up for the charlatan and lightweight he is. gonzo Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Would really love another option to Madine for Alf and Armstrong to feed off. If he goes back to fanny mode and spends half the season injured again we are goosed. Quote

If he goes back to fanny mode and spends half the season injured again we are goosed. He was the he best striker in the league last season. Gave his all every week and was a proper tough nut all season Quote
