Maybe someone like Ameobi can accept a modest salary for 12 months, but he thinks he'll have a cracking season with us and then he'll have clubs queing up for him at the end of the season so £££. Could always go the opposite way like.

Half a decent season in league 1 ...... Henry just signed for oxford maybe one year with us was as good as it got ...... good signing though enjoyed watching him last year

In all reality, he's had a quiet career so far and not ripped up trees in this league. Its an opportunity for both without to much of a tie.

Can always offer him a longer deal if he shapes up ok.

My guess is money is right down the middle, if he does well, we either offer him a new contract at Christmas on better dosh or if it doesn't come off, we are only lumbered with him for 1 year.

 

Maybe the embargo is a sticking point though for how many contracts we can hand out over 12 months?

always thought he would do a job for us this kid !!

Scored goals for fun as a youngster expect he will be scoring 20+ a season in this league in a couple of years time. We are making a habit of giving away our starlets for nothing

I would have thought a year on loan would be a good idea but may be he did not want that ?

Its a poor decision and forgive if I'm wring but arent we short of strikers especially goal scorers

I'm not sure he will didn't do much on loan at chorley so can't see why he will bag goals at a higher level.

Two goals in two games isn't horrific.

If he was any good we'd have tied him down to a professional contract long ago. He may do reasonably well at Killie as the SPFL is surprisingly technical, but I can't see him scoring panfuls and he'll never be strong or quick witted enough to make a success of it at a decent level here.
