February 6, 20233 yr We might be a couple of divisions above City next season so he might want to stay. Rangers were relegated 3 divisions or so in Scotland for what seems much more trivial matters than this City stuff

Sounds like the Chickens are coming home to roost

Can't see them being demoted, though you never know.

A fine won't bother them and you can bet a decision is made about points deductions at the point whereby they'll make little difference ie if it looks like City will finish 2nd, they'll get docked just enough points to keep them in the top 4.

I dont think City's case is helped by the fact that the report "accused City of not co-operating since the investigation started in December 2018" For the premier league this is unchartered territory - at this scale of alleged breach anyway - sort of thing that only happens once in a blue moon
February 6, 20233 yr A better punishment/s would be a transfer embargo, or limiting the numbers of the first team squad say 22, or only being able to sign free transfers, or a limit on wages paid per player, or a specified wages budget allocation. All the sanctions we have had to put up with. We will see how good Pep is then!!

February 6, 20233 yr Strip them of league and cup titles in the years that they breached rules and points deduction whatever it takes to relegate them. That would be sweet.
February 6, 20233 yr I'd like to think that if guilty they'd get their due punishment but I'm expecting they can afford more expensive lawyers than the PL can

Depends upon the size of the fine! Can see them being made an example of, but not dropped down a league or two. Can't see any decision being made this season.

Thought the same until i read just now that the Lawyer appointed to chair the independent review Panel is an Arsenal fan https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11718779/Man-City-panel-chair-Arsenal-member-Premier-League-charges.html That must surely mean a massiver points deduction incoming before the season ends Wonder If City will appeal and say he has a conflict of interest

Potential can of worms and procrastination there.

But it'll be near impossible for the Premiership to hold an enquiry and people not support some team or other. I have run two mediations in Premiership clubs and both times "who do you support ?" was asked (amongst other questions) before I was accepted by both parties. I've been turned down for a couple too. No-one explains why, you're just not offered the gig. Very lucrative they are too btw.
February 7, 20233 yr Thing for me is, they are alleged to have broken over 100 rules They say not guilty so fair enough have an enquiry But if found guilty they need some punishment that amounts to more than a fine they can easily pay If not, there's no point in having rules Retrospectively stripping titles doesn't mean much either
