He would of been 17/18 when kompany took over Anderlecht. Bit too young to be going abroad I think.

Kompany was still there at the back of end last season though before we’d re-signed Trafford. Kompany went to Burnley on 14th June and we re-signed Trafford on 15th June. Probably too close for it to be nothing more than coincidence, but it had been heavily suggested that he’d be going to Anderlecht rather than back to us.

Fair points and to be clear I'd be more than happy to have him back.  I just think the decent saves, whilst grateful for them, weren't anything I haven't seen other keepers do either against us or for other teams at a similar level.  And physically he has some developing to do, so he could be England GK when he's 25 and I hope he is, but that doesn't mean he'd be ready to face physical championship strikers next season IMO.  I'd also expect an improvement in his distribution with his feet to play at that level (he's great at throwing out though).

I can't argue with your point about professional opinions being far greater weight than me or any of us, but if we can't have our own opinions its a sad day.  I think De Gea is an appalling GK for a club at Man U's level but a top class manager is playing him week in week out and talking about giving him a new contract which seems baffling to me, but of course I bow to his superior knowledge whilst knowing he wont get anywhere near my fantasy football team 😁

I'll stick with my prediction that if Trafford plays regularly as a No 1 next season it won't be for a team above us in the EFL, or a top flight team abroad, of course he probably will in future and good luck to him.

I think 2/3 months ago I’d have agreed word for word with that. And I think he may well have stayed too. 

I think he’s matured rapidly in this 2nd half of the season and his performances have got better and better. Hence the massive interest from the clubs in the higher echelons.

I’ve been saying for years that we need a decent keeper of our own. Loans are fine, but we are back to July 2020 now on the keeper front.

We may not sign a possible future England International but it's clear clubs are broke & very capable players indeed are going released or will be available for fees a club getting it's shit together at last will find affordable.

Obviously Evatt, Gilkes & the recruitment chappie will know who fits the keeper/sweeper style Evatt wants, who's available & what wages.

Gotta admire the work done with Traff, but good options will exist. We need two. One, possibly older, who's willing to be a bench warmer and a low to mid 20's first pick. They're out there.
