Can see him having another year on loan with us if we go up.

I still don't see him being No 1 for a championship side next season, I'm really not seeing the amazing keeper I keep reading about.  He's good for us, no more, no less, not championship level for me yet, put simply I need to see more good saves.  Rather than the type of goals Charlton have scored against us (home and away), and those at Plymouth, Shrewsbury etc.  If we don't go up, I'd expect him to be either back here or at City as maybe 3rd choice.

Happy to be proved wrong, not for the first time.

I know what you mean. His efforts at shrewsbury werent those of a top 10 clubs in the world keeper, but dont just judge him on saves

Games moved on

I think it's sometimes easy to forget just how young he is for a goalkeeper

Aye, hes a baby

But we dont have to have a baby

Plus every player doesnt have to be moneyball, but evatts not signing a non ball player, imo

I agree, not sure why we need to loan a keeper, as that takes up a loan spot, there must be plenty of experienced keepers that are 2nd choice that would love to be No 1 for us next season.

I'm not seeing him as a ball player, kicking is worse than for eg Dixon.

Anyway its really not a problem, if we keep him great, if he gets a better gig good luck to him and we sign another keeper, its not like he's got 10 shots a game coming at him like Matthews had.

His kicking isn't worse than Dixon

For one, he can clear his own half

My memory isn't what it was, but I'm sure I remember Dixon pinging a few 40 yard passes to feet, I bet as a kid he could play as an outfield player.  Apologies if I'm wrong.  Trafford's kicking is average at best, I've no problem with that, he's a keeper not an outfield player.  Just clear the damn thing!  But not booting it into touch wouldn't go amiss.

To be fair, Jussi is probably one of the best keepers we’ve had and his kicking had its flaws too. Kicking into touch is a bloody site better than the ball staying in-field but at the feet of an opponent where our own players are unable to react quickly enough.

Traf deals with back passes from anywhere on the back line

I can think of 2 or 3 times hes fucked up and cost us a goal.

Thats prob less than most defenders

Hes great for us,part of the day out as we watch the team grow, but hes not first choice at city within 3 years

The likelihood is, he never will be, which is no shame

How many teenagers/early 20s do we have starting outfield? ‘Kicking’? Passing- to who, where, when… he’s the first point of attack. Watch him at the start of a game as opposed to the end, he dictates play. Quick attack, or slow it down; it’s rarely sliced into WSL.
That’s what he brings to the team. As he matures, he’ll grow in confidence and reassure the defence (he ain’t bad now). He will get stronger, maybe more agile, ultimately more experienced

No, wait - it gets better!! 😆

Whilst I suspect there's more to this than Nixon is telling....

* Laughed my socks off

* Noted that hundreds of other transfers went through without a problem under the exact same rules

* Put my socks back on and laughed them off again

Jussi was the best keeper in the PL behind Van Der Saar and Cech even though his kicks weren't straight and he went down to his knees too early too often
