Transfer Gossip

Biggest transfer news this summer - can we keep hold of Santos. There’s not one other player that I don’t think we could replace but Santos would be almost impossible to replace without spending a fortune.

If we need to sell then cash in on Johnston (I actually think Iredale is a ready made replacement and can actually head a ball).

By his own admission, Santos would be delivering Amazon parcels if it wasn't for Bolton/Evatt, not captaining the winning team at Wembley in front of 70k.

Equally, he's 27 and if the chance to make some serious money came along I wouldn't begrudge him.

It’ll be Paul Mouldens lad I’d think… suppose only the older folk would know who he is.

Broke some record didn’t he for the number of goals scored for a youth team?

Remember watching him in the 80s when he played for City, he was on the cusp of great things, but never quite got the goals needed to cement his place in a top level team.

Top Lad Paul is back where it all started | The Bolton News

I played against him that season in the Bolton Boys Fed. We were the only team that scored more than 1 goal against them in a single game......

We lost 2-14 on Tootal's Park. I was told to mark Julian Darby in that game. I don't think I touched the ball once, but was given MOM by our manager because he said I never gave up. I was fooked afterwards!!

Also played against Paul for schools teams numerous times. When we were 11-14 he was so much bigger than everyone else, like playing against a man. Wiki says he's only 5' 8"!

Early developer, think that helped him break all those records at junior level, didn’t he score a cracker in the England v Scotland schoolboys game?

No comment on the piece but i remember matheson

Cocky twat, but maybe that comes from scoring at the filth when he was about 12

Hope hes had a hair cut

Seem to recall him being a step above when we played them in the League Cup but there again that was against the team of kids we had pre-takeover

I mentioned Matheson a month or so ago as someone worth looking at for RWB. Not sure if he's progressed enough but I'm sure Evatt/Markham will know exactly what level he's at

Quite excited about this one. Hopefully has some legs. Nothing wrong in disliking wolves which I’ve just assumed he does.

A no 2 to who? Shirley there needs to be a no 1

My thought too.

24yrs old, 6'6", obviously knows Evatt from his previous, unused, loan here.

Just played 29 L1 games, 35 games in total, for Accrington, on loan from Burnley.

Why would he want to benchwarm here, again ? If Evatt/Gilks rate him he could be a good option assuming they're bargains basements a keeper again.

We DO need two though, but there will be plenty of mature, experienced keepers mid-30's available as clubs shed out of contract players
