It's the nature of where we are as a club that young player who's any good is going to fuck off soon enough. So I don't see loaning players as an issue - Trafford played more games for us than Holding, Clough, Connell etc.

thank christ at least somebody isnt a fucking loon

long term this, long term that

if theyre any good, theyll be gone before we know it

all we are left with are the shit who are 'never footballers'

Success is finding your own player and selling him for big money

have you had a word with evatt and ms brittan about that?

im sure theyre into turning a profit on players but it doesnt matter if you get them at 8, 18 or 28

evatt has increased the value of quite afew of our signings - i hope we dont cash in

Good clubs can do it and most can’t currently. We are currently not a good club for this. The Academy is a waste of time, that I agree with. What we could do better is working on the released players at 16 etc. We could be better at this for sure.

To be fair, that's what we're intending to do with the B team but it's clearly easier said than done

Oh aye no doubt. We are a year in. It can be done and we’d need good people to do it. Statistics says it’s gonna be tough. We need to strive to be good at it though.

Success is finding your own player and selling him for big money like Holding. We don't seem to have produced one of our own even for the sub's bench since Evatt came in.

Holding is the best player to come out of the Academy in the last 20 years. Good enough to play over 100 games for Arsenal. And we sold him for about four Victor Adeboyejo's.

Bringing lads through consistently and selling them on for big money is a bit of a pipedream for a club like us. You're talking 1 or 2 players every five or six years which might be upper L1 and above quality. Less if you misjudge it and release one early or they get poached (a la Ramsdale and Bartley).

That’s a harsh comparison.

Holding left 7 yrs ago after just half a season in the leagues worst defence.

Victor was bought at 2023 prices.

Summer transfer war chest according to iles

Aye,  it's a nice read that.  Looking like an exciting summer ahead.

Correct, KA cashed in the appearance bonus at 75% of its value but the sell-on remains. Or at least it did in August 2021...

"Substantial"

Ok we only have KAs word on that but what would that be, 25%?

Could be a nice earner as I'm sure someone would pay £15-20m for him

I wonder if the increased budget is for salaries or whether there's some transfer fee dosh? I imagine a measured bit of both. If there is some transfer fee cash I can't see it being above £500K in total. The Pizza Cup winnings, gate receipts and general proceeds is one-off cash. Transfer expenditure (effectively capital outlay) is also one off. It would make sense if there's a link between the two.

If it's true that Kane Wilson from Bristol City is available I'm hoping we'll be all over that, the sort of RWB who looks made for our style of play. L2 POTY not long ago with 17 goal involvements from wing back & still only 23.

If the players don’t get paid again I can see a lot of them taking legal advice regards contracts and cancelling them.

Big Josh will have already given them all the info they need - the big shithouse

Wonder if we will look to cash in on anyone this summer and wonder how big this transfer budget will be.

there’s clearly good deals to be done at this level for 6 figure sums (Morley, Dempsey, as examples), if the board gives Evatt a budget of £1m, that could allow us to bring in 2 or 3 quality players but then still will leave 4 or 5 slots to fill with frees and loans
