Casino Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Casino is two thirds right. No sane man dislikes a good roast potato. I do admit it's possible I've never had a good roast Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Another for the traditional roast. Appreciate it now more than ever; even veggies- especially if home grown. Sometimes get salt marsh lamb from cockerham- its good stuff. My lad won't eat spuds unless roasted/fried. Weird. A steamed new spud with lashings of butter is heavenly. Quote
Whites man Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I'm with Youri on this, you make one comment regarding a misrepresentation of facts and it turns into 'Crawley says British food is shit.' I've explained it in the plainest way I can, historically Asian food was further developed than ours, due to climate, development (the ottomans had one of the largest empires in the world) it is not to say that British food is shit (as I have said above), just as it's blindly stupid to say that a rise in illnesses such as Ricketts is down to origin of birth, and not poverty. Again, that is not to say that these things are not interlinked. Sadly, the loudest and most shrill voices drown out any subtlety of discussion. No wonder Casino just makes funny asides, it's not worth pointing out, it even voicing another option without the idiot klaxon sounding and it dissolving into those odd threads with three people agreeing with themselves over a tangentale issue. Stop bleating. A good Sunday roast is fantastic fodder, as is a proper chippy tea. But my go to food is hardly ever British cuisine. Italian, Indian, Mexican, Chinese are all above every British dish bar those 2 for me. When Farage gets in at the next election you will be one of the first against the wall. Quote
deane koontz Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 There is no finer meal on planet earth than a well cooked Sunday roast. Well i personally wouldn't go out of my way to eat a Sunday roast. British cuisine is just bland fuel food that's only fit for those who work 14 hour shifts down the pit. Quote

Whites man Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Nope. Are you a black man who has converted to Islam? Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Are you a black man who has converted to Islam? Perhaps he just can't cook. Quote

Whites man Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 No. Are you? No, I'm a flaxen haired Anglo-Saxon. Quote

deane koontz Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Maybe I'm being a bit too narrow minded. If i were to make some lobbies/lobby this weekend should i put cabbage in it? Quote
Alf Hartigan Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Ricketts was sublime for a while, he was unplayable at times. Can't think of any other player I've seen that has gone from that level to what he showed in the rest of his career. Quote
frank_spencer Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Now a good English brekkie can also be good. If you buy the sausage bacon and black pud from a proper butcher it can be amazing. Ours does treacle cured bacon. Loads of taste without the insane saltiness of supermarket bacon. Add a couple of poached fresh free range eggs and some toasted buttered spelt bread and you are there! Fuck Croissant and your continental breakfast of cold sliced meat and cold boiled eggs. I do like a good fry up.But not for breakfast, I can't normally eat a load of grub in the mornings. Being the disgrace to manlyness that I am I prefer summert like eggs benedict to a full English. Quote
jayjayoghani Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Ricketts was sublime Football cliche klaxon, again! Quote
jayjayoghani Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 And oh yeah, Delia Smith cottage pie is the food of gods. Great example of British food. Quote

gonzo Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Anyone that eats an English breakfast for their tea is a massive skunk pussy. Same goes for pies In a morning. Quote

leigh white Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I loved bacon and cabbage for my tea in the Oirish pub in Finsbury Park. Quote

bgoefc Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 The other now forgotten english fine cuisine is fried lambs liver. No other food contains as much nutrients, minerals and vitamins than liver. Fry liver and onions on a low heat for 30 mins , add a litre of water, an oxo cube and thicken with bisto powder. pour over mashed potato , sweet potato or carrot and swede mash and serve.
