Pity the Cattle Market closed and flattened. We always intended going back in to pay for the meal we had in there before our weekend in London for the Bristol City Wembley final. It wasn’t our fault.😉

Been too cowd for Monteiths mate. I've been growing hairs on my hairs with a double stout for the last few months.

Longevity. That is where Conservative governments fail the (democratic) world over. They become stale after prolonged stays in power and the electorate becomes bored with them and 'wants a change'.

They get a change alright with the red rags. Such a change that they usually revert to blue as soon as the opportunity arises. Tis only a matter of time.

I had dinner in there 2 or 3 times a week between 1986 and 1990 , sausage egg and chips, two pints of Trophy and change from a fiver , all served by a lovely “ older”  woman

Some truth to that, however the last lot we had in charge became thoroughly repulsive and self serving, all started by Johnson getting rid of anybody with a modicum of talent, in order to attempt to sure up his own position. 

 

So I'd say, this time around, it wasn't so much longevity.....but consistency, as in consistently being absolutely awful over a 3 or 4 year period.

 

Will Starmer and his mob be any better?, who knows, but we did need a change. If they're shit, then they'll only do the one term.

He'll come out with the normal - I've been there I expect.

Do I think Starmer has done well with his first days - I think they need better comms. Do I agree with the money taken, no because you can't stand on a platform of being righteous and do what most PMs do. 

It's early days but there have been some missteps. Although, I'll still judge on policy rather than distraction. I do agree with the policy on winter fuel allowance- but it was done really badly, a self inflected bad news story.
