hopefully things are moving in the right direction, I do find it odd that Johnson resigned from Mays cabinet as he said that her "deal" was worse than remaining.....and now he's gone back with a similar deal, albeit it with the EU having forced us into making some concessions on the NI border issue.

Still, on the plus side, the markets must like what they're hearing, as the USD has shifted nearly $0.05 against GBP in the space of a day or two, which is good news for me

The markets will like any deal over the alternative of no deal. The markets strengthened as did the pound following the governments defeat in the commons on the Benn act. Imagine how unusual it is for markets to strengthen when a government loses?

What's happened?

He's said he may have to "eat his words" and support a plan that is very close to the TM deal, which he had previously described as "completely cretinous"

edit: it's still allegedly the same as the deal that Johnson felt was so bad he resigned his cabinet position for previously, so I do wonder why they both now think it's so good?

So the deal we’re going to get is essentially the one that has the EU with its collective cocks stuffed so deep up the UK’s arse that twenty odd bellends are poking through its throat?

Its not so much a “get fucked” to the EU, more of a simpering, forelock-tugging empty gesture that is a retained membership in all but name?

what a result.

Obviously we need to wait until all the detail comes out, in order to see if this is a good deal or not - Farage has already decided it's terrible, and he'll be campaigning against it.

I do think we'll end up with something that nobody on either side really likes

No - its the only way and been the only way of keeping the GFA in tact, delivering Brexit and not being in a CU or Norway style arrangement with the EU.

Its our own choice to not want a Norway style alignment, our own choice to leave and our own choice to not want some longer term form of customs alignment. We also inspite of the rhetoric know we need to preserve the GFA.

As has been the case for 3 years we've essentially had to take a deal like this - and the Brexiteer nonsense about it is coming home to roost now they are responsible for actually delivering something workable.

If that’s what we get then you can thank, Labour, SNP, Lib Dem, Plaid Cymru and Greens for opposing any type of Brexit. Let’s have an election and see what mandate we can give the Tories for a better deal.

are you suggesting that we also can't blame JRM and his merry bunch in the ERG and others within the Tory party for us being where we are today?

let's not pretend that the Tory party are great and are all united in pushing for Brexit, and it's everybody else's fault that we're still stuck in limbo

Again this simply shows a complete misunderstanding of the situation. The deal isn't about "negotiating" - its about finding a route to agreement to compliance with international agreements, trade laws and market protection.

Our own requirements have brought us down a route where there isn't very much room to achieve those things for both parties.

It isn't about the EU being difficult - would you expect them to cede their own legal and market position to facilitate us leaving? Of course not. Its our problem.

The vast problem been caused by the aforementioned. Let’s see how the public views their input at the next election.

I’m glad we’re about to shake off the extravagances and whimsical free spending pigs in Brussels.

I much prefer watching a family of German descent be transferred across the capital in golden carriages, to sit on a golden throne next to a diamond encrusted golden crown.

In a big golden hall. With gold-hatted guards. And probably with pockets full of the gold Gordon Brown left us.

Donald Tusk clearly isn’t doing it right.

I like how the crown gets it's own carriage, you'd think it could jump in with her Madge, and save the horses wouldn't you

Stronger....nah, unless they are willing to destroy the union, which to be fair, seems eminently possible

No deal...dear God, no

And we would still need border checks

Why don't the leave leaders just admit it's all about England and fcuk all about the UK

I know that's a are part of it, I think I'd be happier if those in the leave side (obviously not all of them) admitted they don't give a fuck about the border in NI, and would rather we just cut them off altogether in order to get Brexit over the line

The union won’t go on forever, if the Scots want to leave let them go, you cannot hold people against their own will, unless that is if necessary your a member of the EU. 😂
