Spider was being serious!!!??? I thought he was engaging in some sort of gingerese wordsmithery mentioning sea and flooding etc.

A wave of smiles washed over me.

if you had lost a seven figure customer, you’d probably not be treating it like an episode of Dads Army either

Thanks for clarifying how this new nirvana will operate for those of us whose plans involve anything other than retiring to Spain. Very helpful.

Sorry I can’t answer a question where the facts aren’t yet available. I also sell to Ireland and I have had no issues yet with supplying my Irish customers, if a deal is reached I can’t see an issue going forward either, except if sterling rises and it becomes cheaper to buy from other EU countries and if that happens I’ll look for customers elsewhere.

Lot of talk about the border and GFA on here previous, the thing with the GFA is it protects the right of identity of both sides, not just nationalists.

if the sea border idea is seen by unionists as in anyway removing their British identity or even right to trade in the same way as people in Britain this too could contravene the GFA for the same reasons as a land border would

The UVF and UDA have already intimated trouble if this happens .

Hope the compromise offered for any sea border in terms of free trade between NI and Britain with no customs, along with free trade with the rest of Ireland and EU makes the attitude of its the best of both worlds for the region , but it’s going to have to be heavily sold as that and probably with the promise of other internal aspects , ie funding etc as unionists can’t be seen as accepting anything that removes them further from Britain and closer to Ireland

If the papers are right about the deal on the table - and Boris goes for it - this is the deal he described as "completely unacceptable". However, we all know Boris has no principles and doesn't care about anyone but himself. The country is being destroyed, the Union being torn apart but he literally doesn't care.

Bit dramatic that mate, previously you’ve been calling for compromise, till we see the deal stay calm.

Bit ironic coming from the crowd of screechers who are constantly screaming "Traitors!" and "Treason!".

Seems about as close toTM’s deal as can be

To be expected really, we could have saved 6 months of fucking about and just taken it then

If it takes some rebranding so people can swallow some pride then so be it

Let’s just get the thing over the line and move on, it’s much better than No Deal

We don’t even know what the border arrangements are yet so not sure what the answer is.  If there is a resolve to the border issue and your former customer still won’t buy, then what is he going to pin the blame on then. I’ll have a guess it’ll be the stronger pound.

Is the border issue not easily resolved using technology?

I guess we will soon see if that’s the case. My best guess is it’ll form at least part of any solution.

Seen my works proposal to a no deal scenario.

If that’s to be the norm which I suspect it will then it’s not good news

They’re just not thinking positively enough, that’s all.

Correct. Positive thinking and bulldog spirit will get us through anything.

Every credit to you mate, you’ve called it all along.

I fully expect the tight wearers (deniers) to instantly start spouting it wasn’t the deal we voted for, but how short their addled memories really are.

They should look at their own for answers and not point the finger elsewhere.

We've said it all along, once the dust has settled we will be fine, unlike the Germans who will be in recession the next quarter.

I note two weeks ago the EU kicked up a fuss re Volkswagen building a new factory in Turkey....silence of that fact on here.....but all hell breaks loose when other car companies try to blame Brexit for their woes in the UK.

The hypocrisy is absolutely staggering.

Remember

I voted to leave

But my business, which is the only one I give a fuck about, has suffered. There is no indication whatsoever that we will pull that business back. That’s a negative that is a fact not a guess. People have lost jobs.

All I really want to know is how soon will my business recoup those missing figures after the 31st?

The Irish are saying the deal that seems to be emerging won’t work for them so they won’t be back.

Any clues how we fill that hole? And how soon...?
