Always wondered why companies do that ??

My cars have always been for 3 years. Obviously with the odd week when it got locked in a car park so Miami had to look after it for a week.

I used to work with a bloke who’s wife worked for Jaguar. Both him and his wife got a new one every 3 months. God knows how she wangled that.

We own the cars that’s the difference mate. Plus it’s another registration if that makes sense.

most companies lease them hence the 3/4 yr terms. I change mine at 8k miles hence every 12 weeks Or so

Similar to me. It’s standard practice so no wangling needed

So you buy a new car and sell it after 3 months. Does that just not mean value drops a lot ? Just trying to understand the angle that makes it good sense for the company.

Wondering how taking a huge hit on initial depreciation is economical. Do you work for a motor manufacturer or dealership or some such or is it to do with tax?

Only my fellow visionaries would be able to understand something so complex. I will go and discuss with boris, Miami or RW 😁

I work for an entity attached to a manufacturer.

it’s the only way it works in reality I would imagine. I’ve never seen a scheme like it tbh it’s fantastic. I don’t pay coy car tax either.

Are they flogged off once the mileage is reached?

Yes we can either buy them at what it stands the company or they get sold into the dealer network at a slightly higher figure and retailed by the dealer at a significant mark up  from there pal. So it ensures a flow of good quality low mileage, no more than 9 month old stock into the car network.

You’re asking me how best to sell a car? Sorry if that seems an obvious question

How come you don't pay tax on it? You really are a jammy sod! Not jealous at all 🤥

Done via a lease purchase scheme so I buy the car sort of and then when I hand it back they buy it back at what’s outstanding. But I don’t actually buy it if that makes sense. I pay a sum towards it each month but get a chunk back for mileage allowance for using my own car which almost offsets the cost 😁. It’s a great scheme and ties folk in hence why most folk are lifers.

Two levels up from me are g wagons. Imagine having one of them!
