We are proving we will go our own way, the EU are literally fighting for their future here. If they make one mistake, the lot will come crashing down on them.

Hence why I've always said they've got more to lose than us......just think about that true fact for a moment, before you start screaming abuse 💋

Mounts says a fair deal will strengthen the union.

Which one of you is right?

Who gets to do the BOOM?

When I talk about people having more to lose than us, my reference isn't towards the trade that is being conducted right now or historical trade figures, I'm talking of figures in the not too distant which will also undoubtedly have an adverse effect on the EU.

Folk automatically assume the EU will carry on instantly where they left off......let's be honest here, will they bollocks.

It possibly could, the EU admit they have to reform don't they ?

If they don't, then your stunt double Guy has admitted it is curtains.

If the EU fold and give leeway in a decent deal, they're signing away the end of the EU as we know it.

Yeah I agree. But when this was mentioned over last 2 years it was dismissed as Project Fear.
It is not the Free Trade people want to leave behind it is the rest of the organisation. If they let us trot off with a great deal others will follow.

I hope mounts is listening

Though, to be fair, folk have been saying it for years

Im not emotionally tied to the EU

I just think my lifes ok and im in no mood to risk that on the off chance

The EU could collapse tomorrow and i wouldnt care one jot, if i was unaffected

If the EU collapses that would cause a great deal of problems to the UK as we are so reliant on them(imports and exports). Whether we are in or out we need a strong EU to prosper.

You can’t make countries stay in a union by holding them to ransom, I think by negotiating a fair deal for the U.K. that would actually show the EU in a better light and rather than weaken it might actually strengthen the Union.

Do you really think that people who might bring pressure in their own country to leave the Union would turn round and say. ‘Oh look the UK got a great deal and have kept a lot of benefits, that is nice. I think we should stay.’

The version of Project Fear i always looked at concerned the immediate loss of 500,000 jobs, a deep economic recession and medical shortages etc....all of which were bullshit.

Shh. We've got them on the ropes.

I think the EU is definitely weaker at the moment and they need a few years of stability since our departure but to say they are in the verge of collapse is for the birds.

Given every fucker agrees we aren't going to see the so called benefits of leaving for a good few years yet then I can't imagine the EU are too concerned right now.

I hope we get a deal but in reality it will be shit because we wont be in the club or fully out the club. But this is the problem and was also inevitable. As I think many said at the time, it is just too late to leave now, if folk were really so bothered about the EU it should have been years and years ago.

If this goes badly, the Brexiters may end up with the worst outcome possible in their eyes.

That post doesn't contain a single "fact".

This argument about other countries following our lead if we leave with a good deal doesn’t add up to me. We were/are the second highest contributor after Germany. Most of the countries are net beneficiaries. Only 10 contributors. I can’t see France or Germany wanting to exit so it doesn’t leave many. We’ve always been a bit remote from Europe because of the geography and our relationship with the US. Politically, I doubt many in Europe would be sad to see us go. Without a deal, many in Europe would be very worried economically.

In your eyes ?

The entire lot could come crashing down on them, even you know that. That's why they openly admit it has to change. Not rocket science is it ?

In my eyes, yes, absolute bollocks.

You are, of course, entitled to a different viewpoint.

I agree with nearly all that, but I think a no deal would be a way bigger kick in the nuts for us than them.

Why so?

Because Mick says so.....surely we know that by now ?

Mick, who despises certain politicians for lining their own trousers, being incompetent etc....yet bizarrely fawns over the most corrupt set of unelected buffoons known to man. Breathtaking irony, though King Pat Mick will say I don't do irony.

A fair deal doesn't have to have the same level of benefit as being a full member does it?

Don't think anyone would expect it to.

Canada has a decent agreement and we wanted something similar.
