We did agree for the Norwegians to sell cod to us tarrif free though, just as an extra kick in the bollocks for our fisherfolk.

Anyway, those in Humberside need to see this as a good opportunity to diversify. Move away from fish and into plant based food stuffs, that's better for the planet. They could create a whole new industry for the North East, and surely create loads of apprenticeships.

Why didn't they just say "fuck fishing, we're not staying in the EU just to keep a few Uncle Alberts in wooly jumpers, we're leaving and fishing is of no interest to us"

Because for some reason, it was a massive vote winner amongst Gammons and Flagshaggers, who it turns out afterwards, don't actually give two fucks about fishing. Let's be honest, none of us do. Let's get all the fishing grounds sold off, and get that money invested in something worth while

Course it's a massive vote winner, goes back to the sense of ourselves. Isalnd nation, fishing, loads of boats heading over to Dunkirk -- all of that. The thing is life moves on and that was all a romantic ideal anyway. 

You can make it work - I mean Whitstable is pretty much owned by the Whitstable Oyster Company - from resturants, on the beach shacks, delis etc
