I watched the speech and as an event it was good. It is only when you dig into the detail that it starts to crumble. 
 

Something like 30% of the money from HS2 which is going to be used to level up the North is being spent in the South.

A number of the schemes that were mentioned were already meant to be delivered. There were 3 round here Shipley by pass, Bradford station and Leeds tram. First two planned for years just delayed. Leeds teams is something they spent millions on and then abandoned ( assume it would include a link to airport that currently has no train link). 
 

A new way of doing politics with a focus on long term policies sounds like something a GCSE student might write. He basically slagged off the last 13 years of Tory rule. Surely people can see through these headlines now. There so little substance to his words. 

The idea of gradually phasing out smoking is great IMO.
