Birch answered the facts, there was no need for any more.

And besides, bloody hell mounts, in the old days we'd have a lemon party pics and some tits posted by now :D

Birch's facts were all wrong which suprised me he is usually accurate and well researched. I'll forgive him though as I know how having a young un can tax ones time and that's more important than debating with uncle knobhead from L H.,????

It's called preparation which the UK seem to have done precious little of

We're prepared but all the EU want to hear is how much are they going get off us is nothing to do with anything else the Europeans couldn't give a shit about detail just $€£. If they don't move on to discussing trade the EU will be culpable for any delays or trade deals that fail and any subsequent down side.

I think we get a fairer distribution of money across the country from EU money. I'm not sure a London government in control of all the pot will be as kind. Just my thoughts though.

The 160 million per day we are discussing here does not get distributed across the UK it gets given to other EU members. So how can it be better that Brussels distribute this substantial amount of money? Your comments beggar belief.

Amazon have just opened a site near Blackrod that will employ 1,200 people who live in the UK

Can anyone explain to me if this is because of, or despite, Brexit please?

Part of the fat controller's master plan ...attract large numbers of asylum seekers to the town then offer incentives to a global corporation to locate with the promise of a ready made minimum wage workforce ...genius.

Your scenario is very scary, but I can't see any of it happening

To have control of our own destiny is IMO the greatest thing to fight for, the EU is a busted flush

You say the Tories are a shambles, let's have a look at the EU, Angela Merkel, the so called most powerful politican in Europe, only 30% of Germans voted for her, after 2weeks she still hasn't formed a government yet, she still trying to bribe smaller parties to support her, strong and stable? So what's Germany's policy on Brexit?

Macron in France was elected but didn't have a party? We are well shut of this madness

You're nightmare of Corbyn & Sturgeon will never happen, Corbyn has come as close to power as he ever will, by the time of the next GE comes around they both will be finished

Trump is President of the USA. But Corbyn being PM will never happen.

I hope it does not but I fear he will at least have power with a hung parliament. The Tories scraped in last time and since have done nothing but make fools of themselves.

Boris is just as dangerous as Corbyn imo.

Who else's have the tories got??

That Reece Mog fella?

Good lord what a state that party is in.

Susan Calman is my bet.

I maybe misworded it mate. What I meant is the EU grants for projects get distributed a lot more equally than funding from our own governments. Lots of the good stuff done up north has been from EU funding grants.

On that subject, oh source of all deviant knowledge. I saw a banner at an NFL game last weekend saying "Melon Party'.

I am almost afraid to ask but, WTF is one of them?

Apologies for the delayed response MK, I've been changing nappies!

I made three points, firstly that our NET contribution is less than 2% of our expenditure, this is broadly correct. Moon man made a statement that the 'we don't control our own spending', this is very misleading given that we have full control of over 98% of our spending.

Let's not forget that we also have a HUGE say in how the other 2% is spent as we have such a big influence over EU policy with our 13% share of the vote.

With regards Law making, whilst it's technically possible that we can be overruled it's very unlikely indeed....

This quote sums the piece up....

"If the UK is adamantly opposed to a law requiring unanimous approval, it's unlikely to make it as far as a vote."

I might be wrong but I am not aware of any EU laws passing that the we were vehemently opposed to, are you?

Finally with regards Border controls, I guess it's symantics. As everyone has to show their passports coming into the country including UK citizens I'd say that can be classed as 'border control'

Over 6,500 EU nationals have been denied entry to the UK since 2010, for various reasons, generally as they are criminals who pose a risk to the UK

In summary I think it's fair to say that we have control over our finances, laws and borders whilst being members of the EU

But as long as progress continues towards a single state we are wrong to be in.

The intention has always been ever-closer union.

Do you accept Malc that this is very much the viewpoint of the older generation i.e. over 50s? And as such it's one that will die off, with that generation? Ergo all this is pointless.

Susan Calman is my bet.

The unfunny fat dwarf Scotch "comedienne"?

Ticks plenty of diversity boxes, I suppose.

Let's just take no notice of the over 50s shall we? Got all the experience of life making their call surely more valid than no nowt kids who after all believed everything Jezza said that's Splendid idea Carlos FFS. Loving it that an old fucker like you getting down with the no nowt kids. ????

Despite clocking up 50K debts to get an education, they "no nowt". Fuck me, you'll be telling us you went to the university of life next.

Perhaps the £150m+ savings could go to free education. Only for British students of course.

I thought it was already going on the NHS?

Nah, flu will kill off a few million this winter so it won't be needed.

i thought it was needed to create and maintain an irish border

Back to Amazon:

"All permanent Amazon fulfilment centre employees earn £8.15 an hour or more after two years of employment, with pay increasing from a starting salary of £7.65 an hour and above."

Has Bolton got 1,000 people looking for work at this level? Eight pounds and fifteen pence an hour. You'll be paying less MADMAX than Little Wit.

Just to throw in a hand grenade, perhaps a more "united Ireland" in the future may be of use.

Don't ask me how to achieve it, I haven't a clue, but things have improved over the years so who knows.

Funnily enough, if you knock out the 18 NI seats in the Commons the Conservatives have a very narrow majority.
