Yeh me too, nice little harbour filled with reasonably priced bars and restaurants, Hotel Croatia looks good, but if you fancy something smaller (and cheaper!) have a look at Hotel Cavtat. both just 15 mins drive from Dubrovnic The Croats seem to have limited imagination when it comes to the naming of hotels
April 25, 20197 yr Got back from Florida Monday night, off to Krakow at 6am Friday, 15-man stag trip. Meeting Squidgy & his bird on Sunday night.

Very little to choose between Cavtat and Baska Voda imo.
April 27, 20197 yr Off to Crete in October and checked out Marni Village on the strength of the comments in this thread. The reviews on TA are great so went ahead and booked a week directly. Now looking for a 5 star family orientated AI for the second week

Now looking for a 5 star family orientated AI for the second week Is october not a bit risky, weather wise Koutoulafari, itself, will be great with so few folk around, but surely it's fingers crossed on the weather Think Marni shuts late October? As for AI, there's one big hotel about half a mile away, about a quarter of a mile up from hersonnisos Other than that, I guess it's hersonnisos or the short trip down the coast to stalis, which would be my choice or malia If you ask Marni, they will sort you a taxi transfer or use heraklio taxes...hes on fb Car hire, no idea
April 27, 20197 yr Think the hotel is the imperial belvedere But I don't know anything about it, other than it looks like it probably does AI

April 27, 20197 yr Rethymnon looks nice Just that I'm a lazy bugger and when I go to Crete, I go to Marni, so cant help did hire a bike one day and did a couple of hours through stalis, malia and on to sissi
April 27, 20197 yr We went to Crete last October half-term. 2 days it pissed it down. 5 days of sunny-ish weather. Was warm enough in the day but chilly at night.

Get up to the castle, unbelievable views, the marina is nice and there’s a superb full size old Spanish wooden galleon you can have look round, also the beach is splendid and worth spending the day there, then eating a lazy lunch on one of the many restaurants that line the beach watching the world go by with an ice cold bottle of vino. Have you looked at Port Aventura in mainland Spain? It's not my bag but at least there's plenty for the kids to do, free waterparks/white knuckle ride theme parks etc. Might not be cheap though if you have to go during school hols. Bored kids = Nightmare holiday imo.

I’m off to Turkey (not everyone’s cup of tea) In May, it’s seems to be a lot cheaper than your usual places and some of the hotels look like you could spend a month there activities wise.
