Traf
Hmmmm, cheap tickets. OK, so we currently lose money, so let's half the cost of tickets, meaning you have to effectively double the crowd to stand still financially?

No because you'd make more money from food, drinks and club merchandise. You have more flexibility with a big crowd.

Sunderland are the closest to us having been a premiership side and then slipping to league one and having ownership issues. I’d say Blackburn were. Will hurt for first couple of years. BWFC do nothing to encourage people on. That’s the gamble that it will hurt but could be massive for next 10 20 years if done right. Other clubs similar to ours are reaping the benefit

Which is 69% of our average premiership crowd in the relegation season. Still way below Sunderland and we were a division higher. Our fans are not that loyal. I don't know how to spell this out any clearer. There are so many reasons why the attendance discrepancies exist. Describing folk as disloyal really is a sad comment, quite a few use it. It is to be hoped that any future owners don't adopt a similar high handed approach.

ProfessorWoland
Just on ticket pricing. I think the club went the right way focusing discounts at season tickets and making junior tickets very affordable. I hope this continues and they make efforts to get the young fans engaged. ProfessorWoland
On another note, I've seen lots about the £5m owed to Moonshift and how Ken is or isn't on the hook for it. Could anyone explain exactly how this works?
Eavesy
Swansea selling a nobody winger for £15m. Our failure to generate consistent high value player sales over the last 10 years has really screwed us over. so many other clubs are living day to day by selling shite players for inflated figures

Look at it as a whole. Our ceiling is lower than many and our drop off is higher than many. There are all sorts of reasons for that. And it doesn't mean we have "shit fans". But the town as a whole perhaps is not able to support a club of the size we might like to think it is in normal circumstances. The data shows that. Its all about adjusting expectations and getting through this period with a club. But there is no point ignoring things like attendance drop offs. And whilst I fully get why people wouldn't go....abandoning the club now...whilst understandable...is probably not an aid to getting it back together. Did we really? We've taken about £3m (maybe more) for a lad with some promise who'd played 20-odd first team games and was part of the league's worst defence, conceding over 2 goals per game during his run in the team. He wouldn't be the player he is now, had we not sold him and took him down to League 1 instead.

Were we financially stable and top half of championship we could have afforded to hold onto him for a year and hope he improved further and we could have held out for a higher price. As it was we had to sell. And everyone knew that. I also think the price we got wasn't far off. Clough we got far more for than he was worth IMO. We haven't got that type of set up with that level of quality. I would like to see us bin off all the academy etc and go to a similar type that hyde has where you pick up lads released at 18.
