Biggest Out of town retail park in Edinburgh today had the police on site stopping cars as they pull up checking addresses and handing out fines if you’ve travelled outside your council area. Neighbour nipped to smyths and ended up with a fine.

but silly when you think we can go to the pub but you can’t travel an extra 1/2 mile to click collect from a toy store.

North West down by over 25% again today, London levelling off. Will we catch them by Thursday? If it was a T20 match what would the prediction be? Duckworth Lewis deciding if bad weather intervenes?
The good news is that all regions are falling.

Anyone above London into tier 3 then.

To think there are people who actually believe that. I think Bolton Diver did for a while.

There are those who are saying that this lockdown is working, but said this wasn't a proper lockdown!

Been a hard year

There’s plenty out there  that believe it you’re right. Few and far between on here which is actually quite surprising given the polar views folk have on most topics

I’m not sure that I said that.

I remember saying that a national 2nd lockdown was wrong, given the variance of infection across the country.

I remember saying that the first lockdown might be viewed as the greatest failure

Difficult to say until it’s all over.

Many critics of the Govt are in general agreement with the Govt’s strategy.

As ever, happy to be proven wrong

What like they have been doing anyway you mean?

Aye probably

Reminds of that guy from Wales who was confused as to whether or not he could drive from Wales, via his sister's in Birmingham, to deliver a parcel to his mum in the north west

When all he had to do was post it from Wales

People will be deliberately obtuse and organise mass gatherings over Christmas with socially distanced congas on NYE, no doubt about it

January spikes incoming

They're both able to get a test easy enough

I didnt know you needed one though

Is that right?

For virtually everywhere right now, you either need a certificate saying you've not got Covid acquired via test less than 72 hrs before you fly or get you get tested when you land.

The issue with test on arrival is the prospect of one of your party getting a bad result and you all quarantine.

We'll have 5 from 3

I'd happily do 11 from 5 if we all knew the score and had been doing it right all year

I'm on about the type of folk who will mix with 2 more different households every day for the duration and say "but that's allowed isn't it?"

The sort who'd call me a sheep

Anyway, merry Christmas to one and all bubbles

I think the government have read it wrong again, surprise, surprise.

Follk would generally be prepared to not mix short term rather than risk close family deaths.

Agree, it's a shit idea. We're nearly there, just hang on for a couple of months more.

Johnson more concerned about being popular than folk dying. What a cock

If a family A (6 people) have Family B (another 6) and Family C (another 6) as their enlarged bubble, do Family B get families D & E or just A & D?

If the first bubble is 18 people, but 12 of them are then in other 18 people bubbles, before you know it the whole country will just be one bubble, won't it?

The old "6 degrees of separation" theory is now down to 3.6 on average.

Sorry to hear this. And is exactly why the suggestion the "vulnerable" shield whilst others crack on just doesn't work. There's no way of keeping those groups apart which is why we just need to keep the overall levels down for now.

cheers, it's just shit, you can shield as much as you like, but you basically know if you send someone old/vunerable to hospital because you have no other choice, chances are, they won't come out

tis shite

similar questions being asked on BBC News right now, so many different scenarios it's mad

one question

"can I go to a caravan/holiday park with friends over christmas and have our child support bubble join us half way through after they've spent christmas with their bubbles?"

"the focus is on staying at home"

"ok, we're still going to do it"

It's total madness in my opinion.

Questions need to be asked.

If it wasn't Xmas, would there be a 5 day relaxation period?
Does "the science" say a 5-day blowout will be good for the country?
Why were large ethnic areas effectively closed down with no notice prior to Eid?
