This idea was floated by Cummings who thought he understood the science but didn’t. As with most things. Herd immunity means hundreds of thousands of deaths. Its not an option. Further there is no definitive study showing how long lastingly effective antibody immunity is. The only thing we can do is prevent as many people getting this as possible for as long as possible. Until either an effective treatment or vaccine is available. There is currently no other way. Not my words but those of the SAGE group advising the government. Quote

ErnestTurnip Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Wife finishes 14 day isolation at the start of the week and is back in school at the end of the week. She's had every symptom of Covid. We don't know if she's had it, we don't know if she has still got it and is infectious, we don't know anything other than she has had all the symptoms and was in bed for a good 10 days. There'll be loads in the same position who are going back to all different roles and it's only now they have started about testing front line NHS staff. Is it madness or is it the best we can do, I'm sat here undecided at 3 beers in. Quote
