The UK health advice is currently that there is no evidence cancelling open air sporting events has any impact. Cheltenham festival going ahead this week for example.

What we got told to prepare for. Non essential staff will not be allowed in the grounds and training facilities.

Been in manc having a mooch and just seen the 1 guy with a face mask on but he wasn't fucking about, full on hazmat jobby with filter.

See the Nottingham Forest owner has it

He was in their dressing room pre game meeting players and then fans. If Forest have to self isolate, and presumably Millwall too how the hell can they continue the season?

Absolutely uncharted waters these.

One of my Son's is coming back from school trip from southern Italy in 2 hrs.

We were informed this morning that anyone travelling back from Italy since yesterday has to self isolate for 2 weeks, and siblings not allowed in school for 2 weeks as well if staying in the same house.

Me, the younger son and dog are off to somewhere else for a fortnight

Just spent 4 hours packing half the house into my car.

See you on the other side

Sounds a bit shit. Good luck to you all.

Spider- I only said to the missus at the weekend that this is far more concerning than any of the previous flu cases.

Lad got swine flu as a youngster, had his tamiflu and was fine. This is a different animal altogether.

Of the 3 we saw in London on Saturday.

All 3 were chinky women, Sweden Al reckoned if they didnt have the virus , they were wearing it because they are ugly .

Not a bad call.

have people moved on now from thinking it's only a bit of a rough cold yet?

Isn’t it less rough than flu, wonder how many died from flu on the same day. Not belittling it but would like to see some comparisons.

Think its only a matter of time before the UK ramp up the precautions.
Doesn’t make sense to allow public gatherings. Better to do overreact than underestimate it.

Tis but a scratch

I'm sure some comparisons will come out in due course, I'm not sure why some people (not aimed at you) feel the need to compare it to things like the flu, it's still an unknown, and we won't know for several months if it's "as bad" as the flu or not.

People need to get their head around the word 'exponential'

That’s what alarms me. It seems we are in a similar position to Italy was a few weeks ago.

Here you go

last bullet is interesting. That Med Diet might not be all it’s cracked up to be

In the winter seasons from 2013/14 to 2016/17, an estimated average of 5,290,000 ILI cases occurred in Italy, corresponding to an incidence of 9%.

More than 68,000 deaths attributable to flu epidemics were estimated in the study period.

Italy showed a higher influenza attributable excess mortality compared to other European countries. especially in the elderly.

Interesting figures, looks like it’s less potent than flu, let’s hope so, interesting that Italy has the worst record In Europe on flu deaths, don’t think it’s going to be anything like as bad here as Italy. The big unknown being how many catch it in the first place.

Their U23's played us yesterday....

If a few players get it - I reckon that might be season done with....unless those players are naturally isolated which would be very lucky.....

Our forwards and Sunderland's should be in the clear then.

It’s death rate is higher than the flu. Flu is well under 1%. This is 3%. It’s also a little more infectious than flu.

Yep. And we’re doing exactly what Italy did at that stage. Fuck all.

It has the second oldest population in the world. Reckon the med diet and a moderate level of red wine is the way to go.

RBS and TSB are to allow customers affected by the virus to defer payment of mortgages. Thumbs up from me.
