I think Cummings has told Boris to stay away from the media. His lovable buffoon act isn't what the country needs in a crisis. We used to see more of Boris when he was the Mayor!

I'm at the stage of barely giving a fuck anymore.

No one's give a fuck about lockdown for 2 or 3 weeks. We're still abiding by the rules but from my window... Loads ain't.

Nursery open 1st June.

Schools open hopefully mid June.

Back to normal by the time we kick the season off in league 2. Large gatherings are a thing of the past at the unibol anyway!

Wishful thinking that. I doubt we'll be back to normal until next year. They're shit scared of a 2nd peak in Autumn/winter.  They're going to try and keep the R rate below 1 for as long as possible until we get a vaccine.

We need to get to around 70% of the population infected  or vaccine for it to stop spreading.  They think we are at less than 10% now, so another 60 to go. Keeping the r rate just below 1 will mean we move towards the 70% at a very slow rate.

To give you an idea, if we had 10,000 new cases every day, (about 80 deaths a day) it would take us 11 years.

Can't see them letting us in stadiums for ages. Hope I'm wrong, theres a successful vaccine in USA, worked on 8 out of 8 patients. Will be ready in Jan at the earliest, they said today.

I remain to be convinced about how many have been infected

My internet fiver is on it being much higher than is suggested

The testing of premier league staff has given an infected rate of 0.9%. Which compares to the estimate of 0.4% from ONS.
It might not sound it but 745 tested is a decent sized sample but you could argue that testing people at football clubs is not representative.

Spain tested 70,000 for antibodies last week. 5% positive, 11% in Madrid. Similar results in France/Paris.

We'll get results from tests all round the world in next few weeks, so should get a better idea then.

So does that mean that 3500 have had it and the rest haven't?

Fuck me, long way to go

Brazil is fucked

Saw a report on the news 2 weeks ago and mentioned it on here. Half the amazon will be a graveyard by autumn.

Their leader has been calling it a bad cold for weeks but turned up on the telly in a mask yesterday.

He makes Trump look like Ghandi.

1179 dead in one day, their  lockdown is very lax, São Paulo’s main hospital is on the brink of collapse and one report saying it hasn’t really hit the shanty towns in Rio, yet. FUCKED.

couple of years time the narrative will have changed as to why we allowed the economy to die.

before one of the plebs start On me at 9am I don’t think we had any choice but to lock down and were too late at the outset. But we should be more out now imo.

Nope

Is Boris?

Boris is busy preparing to be ‘forensically’  examined by the legal eagle and PM in waiting Kier Starmer at PM’s questions

Keir may have discovered a spelling mistake or a grammatical error from some obscure Government report from 6 months ago and will play cat and mouse for 20mins while Boris blusters and refuses to admit to the error.

Kier, with his smart suit and slicked quiff will be supported by the newly remodelled Angela Raynor, new teeth, new hair, elocution lessons, that’s what the Government’s opposition are ‘all style, no substance’, leave getting the big jobs done to Boris

This is basically confirmation that Starmer has Tories properly rattled.

Corbyn never instilled this much panic.

Long overdue.

At the end of April

"More than 5,000 Brazilians have lost their lives to the coronavirus – even more people than in China, if its official statistics are to be believed.

But on Tuesday night Brazil’s president shrugged off the news. “So what?” Jair Bolsonaro told reporters when asked about the record 474 deaths that day. “I’m sorry. What do you want me to do?”

I’d be willing to bet that Brazil passes the yanks by the end of June.

Wildfire once it gets into the shanties.

Boris doing any preparation work and looking at details would be a first.
