App wont be ready for June 1st apparently

"We have therefore changed the emphasis of our communications and plans to put human-contact tracing at the beginning of our plans and to regard the app as something that will come later in support.”

How they going to track unknown folk without the App?

Transaction history or not at all untill the App

They must be able to do it to some extent, for those without a smart phone or without the app downloaded.

Just take longer presumably.

177,000 tests and only 2.500 positive is good news. That must be the lowest percentage since tests began.

Heard from a lad who went for a test. The centre was being run by what he said  looked like an events company. No health care staff, no PPE.

They basically chucked the kit in a bag through his car window from a distance. It had instructions what to do, he did it and chucked the swab in a bin as he drove out.

He wasn’t sure if he’d done it right, reckons there’ll be loads who fuck  it up.

60k people tested, which is the thing to be looking at when it comes to %. You can be tested multiple times, but obviously would only count once in the confirmed cases.

177k tests today from 60k people. On the 6th May we did 97k tests from 67k people.

Cant see what they can do without the app, other than contacting those who the infected person tells them they've been near to? In S Korea they published the whereabouts of positive people (no names) on an interactive map, so you could see where and when they'd moved before testing positive - and they used trasaction history too.

South Korea also didn’t have 8 weeks not bothering with tracing at all.

The usual suspects turning a positive into a negative. Promise of lots more tits though so that can’t be bad. Going back into lockdown. Hopefully resurfacing when the government says I can on June 1st. Enjoy the tits. 👍

And the usual suspects looking for a positive amongst over 30k deaths. You must believe in fairies  and unicorns

Just giving you a honest account of a bloke I know’s experience of the testing process.

If you’d prefer to bury your head in Boris’s welcoming bullshit filled bosoms you crack on.

The truth will out on the other side and it ain’t going be fucking pretty

9 1/2 weeks

Yep definatley - and because S K tracked and traced really well early on, it meant that they didnt have to put resource into protecting their health service (because they didn't have many patients to care for), they didnt have a PPE shortage,  they didnt have to test 100k a day, it didnt spread into care homes, etc etc etc.

I heard someone yesterday on the daily briefing, can't remember who it was, defending the abondoment of tracking and tracing, saying that they had to stop it because they needed to keep the tests for hospital patients only.......... Yeah but if you'd locked down earlier - stopped inward flights,  quarantined everyone returning from europe and china for two weeks in govermnet buildings, tracked and traced, you wouldn't have had as many patients to test.

I've said it before - my 15yr old son came home from an Italy school trip in early March, 1 day before Italy locked down the whole country - they had to distance whilst in Italy towards the end of the trip, hand sanitisers everywhere in the airport, streets empty

They flew out of Milan.

When they came home, no test.

Advice was to isolate at home for 2 weeks.

5 days later they changed the rule to only isolate if you have symptoms, so the kids had to go back to school the week after.

There were several kids on the trip, back in school a week after returning, with symptoms, they got sent home  by the teachers - crazy.

We are back to comparing us to a country who had existing technology and experience of dealing with a deadly virus like this. Beggars belief this. It’s like Groundhog Day and it’s fucking tedious.
