First thing I’d be doing is getting rid of David Lee and Jimmy Phillips and any other jobs for the boys at the club.

(Obviously FV, not him)

Start a fresh throughout and build a team from top to bottom and inside out based on his philosophy.

I hope he gets to make those decisions and bring in who he wants.

Evatt will be working for Phoenix

Evatt will not be deciding if Lee and Phillips stay

I think there's no chance the pair of them see the end of july

More than happy with this. I'm wary of using the phrase "it feels right" as it's what I said with Hills appointment but it does. Let's give him our backing and fingers crossed we'll be on the up with some easy on the eye football played along the way.

He said he had the same at barrow at first with the fans if nothing on the team recycle the ball keeping possession

how long will it be before you here someone at the match shout “ just get it in the fucking box “

I guarantee it will happen in any home game where we havent scored after about an hour, if its against a team we should beat at home (hopefully that's most in league 2).  I will draw the line if we look like Reading in their last couple of visits here, when their goalie just refused to clear his lines from 1st minute to last, and every time he got the ball it was our best chance to get possession.  That is just fannying about for the sake of it and its not football.  You see goals conceded week after week because the keeper thinks he can play and I'd hate us to play that way.

Impressive interview, he seems very sure of what he wants which should make the player recruitment interesting.

& well done FV, for not trying to please thicketts who want someone as manager just because they used to play for us ( Lee should be out now but i'd keep the others who know the youngsters for some continuity ) & for not just going for the cheaper out of work options - which shows we're not completely skint !!

Good luck Ian Evatt.

Right - new manager cards in the table time. I'm really chuffed with this appointment - but I don't think he'll be with us for very long.

That's already longer than I was anticipating

Splendid first interview. Good Luck!

Evatt ain’t getting poached until we are at least top 6 in league 1.

if that’s 18 months time, thanks and good luck - but I’d be annoyed

Impressed with that interview, he’s certainly talking the talk. Quietly optimistic, but then again I thought the same with Dougie.

Open and expansive football is that owen coyle i hear?

I have to say I was buzzing when Hillcroft joined (I like Flitcroft and thought it was a dream team - still feel sorry for him getting sacked coz of Hill), and I was buzzing for Parky joining, and Lennon. When all 3 spoke to the media initially I thought they sounded absolutely perfect for us.  So what Evatt said today counts for nothing.  The previous 3 managers proved they couldnt organise a team to play to their strengths, but I'm as convinced as I can be that this one can be a manager that others envy us for, instead of feeling sorry for us or taking the piss.  Bring on the new era.

I thought the same with Freedman, but the shithouse didnt carry through anyhing he said he would.

This fella has implemented his way of playing at a non-league club and he is saying the same things on his arrival here, i believe he will put his methods in place, he's the real deal, he will only bring in players that want to play his way and that will do for me.

Freedman wanted us to play possession football without the ball.
