I reckon we're in the final hours of the ceasefire now, sadly......once all hostages are returned (in whatever state they're in) then Israel will go back on the offensive again

Probably correct. The return of very clearly cruelly treated hostages will only add fuel to that fire. A heavy price likely to be paid.

No, it was a simple question.

I rarely watch the news, so I just wanted to know if the Palestinian death toll had hit 50k yet.

As for the exchange rate, that's complicated, because the ones held by Hamas are hostages and those detained by the Israelis are prisoners apparently, suggesting that they're not being held illegally.

The IDF also killed some of its own citizens on Oct 7th. Not quite sure what exchange rate is involved here.
