Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, James Trafford;

Defenders: Reece James, Tino Livramento, Nico O'Reilly, Djed Spence, Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi, John Stones, Jarell Quansah, Dan Burn;

Midfielders: Declan Rice, Elliott Anderson, Jordan Henderson, Kobbie Mainoo, Jude Bellingham, Morgan Rogers, Eberechi Eze;

Too many United players in that for my liking

Meh - a lot of it is blown out of proportion. The only one I’m really surprised at, given he’s probably one of the top 5 players in the prem this season, is Gibbs-White.

I'd have Maguire, Wharton and Palmer in for Burn, Henderson and Madueke without a second thought.

no issue with burn but stones makes no sense

I only watch premier League highlights these days, but I don't recall ever seeing maduke featuring much compared to the likes of Palmer or Gibbs white, regardless of position

ultimately

we can still put out a decent starting XI but just don't see where the depth or ability to change a game is

let's not over react though

there's only 3 or 4 you'd pick there to even be in the squad

oh aye, still get to the 1/4's that lot though, some absolute muck in this world cup

There's quality everywhere in the team, I'd take MGW or Wharton instead of Henderson, couldn't he go as part of the backroom staff or just a moral role? Trent over Spence and Palmer despite form is capable of a moment of brilliance, he's a quality player. I get the The Toney pick, but it's not one I'd have chose

We have good options on the bench without Palmer, Foden etc, I wonder if Rashford v Gordon will see rotation in that position the most, too early for Rio yet but fancy that position to be his in future tournaments. I think that along with the 10 position is the only really debatable starting area, but you'd be brave to leave Bellingham out

Having said that, there's 4 in that squad that I've literally never heard of.

Livramento, Quansah, Anderson and Madueke.

Who the fuck are they?

Madueke as played a good part for England filling in for Saka, Elliot Anderson as been class for Forest and England and will get a huge move in the summer, surely you've heard of him? he's first choice with Rice, vital player we've not had before in recent tournaments.

Nope - never heard of either of them. I'm proper out of touch.

Managers' pet same under Southgate

They can do no wrong. No objectivity.

Said it before but she's like a hostage telling the outside world everything is OK while she's chained to a radiator.

The Toney stuff is blown out of proportion. He's third choice striker. If all he does is score in a penalty shoot out when we need him to it's a success. Hes also used to playing in 30+ degrees and it might be a shit league , but he's prolific in it.

I actually don't mind the team. The defence is average no matter who plays. Least there is balance and width.

That Southgate squad for the world cup was fucking dreadful. Trippier left back. Foden left wing, both come inside, no width. Ended up playing saka as LWB. Proper shite.

There were 5 number 10s he could pick from. He's never taking 5 so had to chop it down. Foden and Palmer have had poor seasons. I'm personally more surprised MGW hasn't made it.

I'd have had Maguire over Burn and would have loved Wharton in the squad.
