Is he staring at the wood burner?

Burner just lit.

He's obviously been a family dog, tried skagging from the table but when he realised he was getting nowt he settled in front of an electric fire in the dining room.

I think he's a bit mutt and jeff, he doesn't seem to respond to voice commands but all us blokes are the same. Also he definitely is a snorer, another thing we have in common.

We had a good old walk this afternoon, he walks really well on the lead, He did a shit, more like wet plaster so definitely getting better.

Disappointed I need to go to work tomorrow, I have to do a survey at Craven Cottage so an early start.

Mrs Dim been with him all day. He was as good as gold overnight, slept on the settee under a blanket, no messes. We tried him on Butchers Senior tonight and he woofed it down, he has been fussy regarding the Harringtons the kennel was feeding him so maybe he has been brought up on wet food.

He loves his ball and tuggy toy and is able to play on his own. Mrs Dim has been playing the "bucket game" with him (good training, look it up) and she doesn't believe he is as deaf as we suspected so maybe it is a survival thing from the stress of the kennels, lets not forget he was referred to the charity by a vet who was scheduled to put him to sleep. We also suspect he's been renamed (I need to ask the kennel) which might explain the lack of response.

I walked him in the dark at 6:30 this morning and Mrs Dim has walked him several times today, really good on the lead, he definitely is a house dog, not heard his bark yet.

He's brought the house back to life already. Snoring at the moment.

End of Report (for now)

Mine is 6 months old today. Couldn’t imagine life without him now. Currently lay down on the couch in front of me snoring his head off.

sounds like you’ve got a cracking dog there and he’s going to get a second chance at life. Well done 👏🏻

Does he wag his tail and get animated if Sam Smith comes on the Radio?

Mrs Dim is a Planet Rock gal.

He definitely looks Motorhead but is actually more The Eagles

Earlier on in the thread we discussed whether it was "safe" to re-home rescue dog, I need to shout out YES IT IS. PLEASE DO CONSIDER IT whenever I can. They are not all dangerous, some have just become victims of owners' changes in circumstances such as new landlords forbidding pets or even dying. The re-homing kennels carry out assessments and do home checks to ensure a good fit, we weren't suitable for the first dog we considered (a Romanian Rescue from the Dogs Trust) as she needed total peace and quiet in a very rural location to recover from mental trauma.

Diesel would have been put to sleep last December if a charity hadn't stepped in, he is now dossing down on the settee like Lord Muck
