  • I just want my lad to witness a promotion. Don't really care what happens or who plays for us after that. I definitely will in the future, but the absolute focus has to be to get out of this mind-numb

  • I disagree. His BWFC years were some of his greatest and happiest of his career. His latest SSN documentary piece highlighted this, as does countless footage of his wonder, his PFA nominatio

The double injuries to Thomason and Dempsey could prove seismic in the context of our current situation.

Having only Sheehan and Matete as 2 central midfielders is nowhere near enough to get us through this next month.

Can we recall Morley?

Thought so.

If Dempsey is medium/long term, we have a big problem.

Which was discussed at the end of the transfer window.

Unbalanced squad with little cover in midfield, which is purely down to one man.

If folks on here could see it, why couldn’t he?

What's up with GT?

We were weak and light in midfield, even when we planned to only play with two.

The fact this wasn't addressed is an absolute shambles.

In fact, not only wasn't it addressed, we moved out a midfielder that's currently playing levels above any of ours.

Worse than all that it was actively recruited against.

Well, he did bring in Arfield for cover.

Not exactly worked out.

I think we can during the Jan window.

Hopefully to get us out of a relegation dogfight!

Can't do any worse than Arfield.

Morley seems to be first name on the team sheet at the 3rd place team in the league, and very well liked by the fans.

The better question might be: would Morley want to return to a manager who didn’t want him and a significant number of fans who thought he was wasn’t at the level of Thomason and Matete?

He's a different player to those, and wasn't showing up too well last season.

Fwiw, I think Evatt tried to change him a bit, and it didn't work.

No doubt he became frustrated etc.

He is very happy down there, and seems to be playing in a role to suit him.

As you say, he may not fancy coming back, and if he was expected to do what he is not so good at, then he may well not be effective.

I felt Evatt was right to try to strengthen his defensive side, but it seemed that as a result, he became risk averse, not getting forward as he can. Maybe we could have allowed him to be himself and and protected him, who knows.

I think/hope Aaron would be honest enough to admit that he'd gone off the boil and got a bit stale at Bolton.

Often happens when you have your first kid. Perhaps the shipping out to Wycombe has given him the kick up the arse/motivation he needed that his manager and coaches couldn't.

He won't come back to play for us whilst IE is here.

Arfield was brought in for his experience. It doesn't seem to be working out. Maybe it'll click but I'm beginning to doubt it.

Dempsey as been another sick note if he is out for any length of time must be is 4 or 5 long spell out

It seems he gets his in games to be fair. He's an all action type.

Doesn't help when his manager keeps playing him with a broken vertebra!

Who? Morley?

I like Morley. It's Thomason I don't rate.

Looks like Dempsey is out a knee problem waiting for scan results Toal could be ready if doctor passes him , Jones still not ready and neither is CMG or Desmond also Baxter  a doubt not looking good on the injury front .

It’s a mixture of an unfortunate injury situation, plus the continued poor recruitment in midfield from Evatt for me.

Going to be a tough couple of months.

If we can’t recall Morley until January, by which time you’d expect all our midfielders to be fit, could we recall Khumbeni who also showed promise and could fill a gap? We recalled Hutch so why not Nelson?
