The company have become a complete shambles and seem to be in deep trouble, i wouldn’t mind betting Tui will go bust in the not too distant future. going Rhodes afternoon June 24th Easyjet though booked fast track security for what that's worth this check in the night before, we actually talking about taking your bags they day before, or just doing it online then walking straight up to the drop off rather than queuing for the main desk? I'll do whatever it takes to avoid any mither Quote
Spider Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I can only tell you that Leeds Bradford was flawless. Park and ride is quick, half the price of Manchester. The only drawback is the journey there does take an hour, but it’s no hardship. Yes it’s smaller and there’s less shops, but you don’t go on holiday to piss hundreds away at the airport. smaller airports are my preference, Blackpool was great when it had a stint doing international flights. Manchester is fine when it’s running smooth, but by fuck it’s hellish when it isn’t. Quote

We were speedy boarding and it did fuck all. the biggest issue I found was not enough humans and too much reliance on machines and the great British public. Recipe for disaster. expensive but if you can book a hotel there. Get the bags in the night before and relax / enjoy your holiday. Quote

I live 10 mins away, so I'll happy drive down and check them in then so, just to be clear, I can go, and queue to check the actual bags in doing a machine tag print out, then just turn up the next day to go straight to security? i'll go at midnight or something to check them in, no problem Quote

Traf Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Alternatively, there's a free drop off/pick up site that runs shuttle buses to the terminals. You'd need someone to drop you off, drive a way for abit and come back for you though. Quote

Pablo Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I always come back from holidays feeling it was just too much hassle and cost, and never feels worth it. Tenerife in last October for 1 week, 3/4 * self catering, was ok, but wife booked a last min jobby. In total its cost me over £5 grand for the 7 nights, fking madness. Quote

To top it off, wifes suitcase didn’t arrive at Rhodes airport, along with about 100 other folk. We were attending a family wedding yesterday, so she had no dress/shoes/bag and make-up etc and had to attend the wedding in the stuff she travelled in. Does anyone know if Tui liable to compensate us for the missing case? The case still hasn’t showed up 36 hours after landing. . Quote

This is exactly why I decided to get a place in Spain, trouble is you end up going 12 weeks a year and spending about 20 grand. At least you get value for money and something to show for it.
