Granted, some of the tweets he's responding too are just abuse, but there are people who have tried to raise the shennanigans from Saturday with him only to either be ignored or get a sarcastic response.

Lets not forget the head of the tree at GMP is Andy Burham, I will leave that there.

I wouldn't see Andy Burnham telling officers to go and punch fans.

Can't lay this at his door- there are major problems with policing all over, and here in GM in particular. Too much time spent ticking boxes and form filling, being seen to be doing the right thing whilst achieving the opposite. 

Low numbers, quality and morale. Leadership hamstrung by so much regulation and innumerable folk wanting their piece of flesh or rights to count above others.

Generally, just a poor service overall.

He’s not in control of day to day policing in manchester but he’s the over arching head of the GMP, he employed the current GMP chief who was previously in charge of another strong arm police force in SY. Burnham first interest in politics came via the miners strike so he should know all about police bullies, if this was Liverpool football fans he’d be all over it.
