Just seen the team, Moeen's lack of cricket still a concern, but Josh Tongue being dropped?

Unless he's rested to protect his fitness for some reason, then I don't get that one.

No need to offer them to me, I’m otherwise engaged

Unless you're going to spend at least £250K with me, then I wouldn't anyway 😝

I actually went for the same team on that BBC predictor thing yesterday.

Although I thought Stokes or Root would have gone in at 3.

Tongue hasn’t been dropped for his performance, more to do with having some variation in there (4 bowlers all very similar last week).

That side now has experience in there, spin, seam and fast paced options (Wood is a very good option to have)  and it lengthens our batting with Moen and Woakes coming in. I reckon it was  a straight selection between Robinson and Tongue - I can see why they went Robinson this time.

Probably more significant with Bazball in mind, it’s extremely attacking, aggressive with an element of risk for reward. All good for maximum entertainment again.

Going to lose both Anderson and Broad in the not too distant future. Other young bowlers seem to get injured.

He's been the most successful bowler, so if you want variation, drop Broad or Robinson instead.

Experience is great, and I think Woakes is a fine player, but it seems odd that the bloke who has removed their best batsman isn't playing when you need to take 20 wickets.

Then there's the effect on his confidence.

The lad's done well so early in his career, against the best side, and they have discarded him. Bizarre.

Decent argument for picking him.

But I’m still sticking with the selected combination as our best option for this test. I wouldn’t be resting Broad or Robinson, I think Headingly will suit them both.

Maybe.

Leave them all in then

Moeen again is odd. What is Headingly likely to offer in terms of spin, and I wouldn't pin much hope on his batting, unless we've already got a good score before he comes in

Genuinely hope it works, and it may well do, but those little improvements required are generally for the more established players. Can't level that at Tongue.

Cheapest tickets on line are over £200.

I have an appointment with an eye doctor today or would be bothered to make the 10 minute journey. Smiley and I did first day at Headingly 4 years ago. It rained a fair bit then , we got tickets day before and they were great tbf.

There on Saturday. Weather forecast is thunder storms.

Too many dropped catches for my liking

If Root and Bairstow had held those dollies we'd be looking at a different game.

Literally :)

If these Yorkshire cunts were as good at catching as they are at abusing Asians, we'd be well in.
