Total authoritarian regime, but one that has size, raw materials and increasing technological knowledge. People allowed to share some of that-so long as they conform to the required way. They don't give a toss about there own people, when it suits them not to. ..and that's increasing by the day, as they're actually investing in it. Last year, they exported in excess of $136B of ICs (just the ICs, not including all the other components) - that's a lot of money, especially considering the "ban" on Chinese tech into the US (which of course still goes on, via various workarounds) You're right about the people though, they have to be careful with a lot of things they do, I've even been out on meals and a local party official will be present, and he'll be plied with the best wine and food, and also given a "hostess" for the evening as well. They are so populous a country, that they don't really give too much of a fuck if a factory worker dies, there's another 5 people waiting outside the factory gates in the morning waiting to take their job. I've not seen it with my own eyes, but I do understand that there is unbelievable poverty in some of the places, akin to the shit you might see in India, The Sudan and Breightmet Quote

When he was away my mum used to pick my auntie and the kids up and take them for tea. Routinely followed by a Zil limousine. Didn’t faze my mum one bit Quote

We don't know who or what we are anymore, what industrialist in their right mind would shut down their last blast furnace and totally stop coal production and associated power generation while our competitors are upping theirs? I’ll grab the stats for you later But China is investing more than anyone in green tech and their coal production is dropping year on year. Move with the times or don’t. But rest assured they’re moving with or without you cocker Quote

Members Lt. Popular Post London Wanderer Posted October 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted October 18, 2024 Who’s buying the cocaine & funding these gangs ? Not a defence of the dealers. But part of the blame is rarely given to the people paying for it. Quote
