Bloody lovely day here in Katowice Poland today, can see why so many of the poles who came home around COVID/Brexit stayed.

Not sure how nice it'll be in the pissing down rain TBF and everywhere feels nice on a sunny day

Supposedly one of the safest places to be in Europe. In fact most of the central and eastern European countries are. Not sure how far you are into your trip. I spent a good hour and a half talking politics with a Polish guy whilst sharing a pack of cigs in a bar in Prague last month. (I stopped smoking years ago) Great people and great part of the world.

Heading through Brno tomorrow then 3 nights in Prague.

Wroclaw was really nice and definitely somewhere I'd want to come back to for a longer visit.

Definitely a drastic split between the haves and the have nots here. Plenty of money being pumped into the infrastructure bringing it up to spec but also lots of run down soviet era stuff still about.

There are some brilliant things about this country still. Love the city I live in & could see myself living further north at some point. 
 

Warmer & wetter weather is set to be the norm now though, & that has an effect. 
 

Not sure how other people see it who’ve lived through the 70s & 80s, but my dad was saying he’s never known the country to be in as much of a mess as it is now. Folk are quick to pin everything on immigration, but the reality is that our public services have been massively underfunded & are on their knees. 
 

Yes we’ve problems with drugs, benefit fraud & illegal immigration. But if you neglect vital public services then a country slowly starts to crumble. If things can at least stabilise, then it’ll be a start.

I get to Bolton when I can, not going to spend more time there just so I can understand a post more 😁 I’ve lived in areas with a large immigrant populations before.

 It’s easier if you just enlighten me though. What are these asylum seekers/migrants doing that’s upsetting you when they walk about? And how are you so certain they’re a migrant or asylum seeker?
