I haven't been into subscribing to the talk all season about it being a poor league we should get out of easily, thought there were still plenty of decent teams around. Starting to think differently now, barring Portsmouth everyone seems to be stumbling towards the finish line, including us. We haven't been anywhere near it since the turn of the year yet could easily still go up if the others find ways to chuck away as many if not more points as us

There’s been a lot of bravado talk and dissing of other teams but reality is starting to bite. 10 games ago we were flying high with enough games in hand to walk the title but a combination of cancelled games and a misleading league position detracted from seeing the drop in our form. Fortunately only one of the contenders- Pompey - were able to take advantage of the situation.

We’re still in the mix though and as you imply it’s going to be the team that can start churning out wins that will get promoted because right now it looks like none of the contenders want it.

We’re not in the position we’re in because we’re playing well though - we’re here because of how we used to play - so we need to become that winning team very quickly and give full respect to every team we come up against.

Crumbs, another poor result, another time for meltdown on Wanderers Ways.

Another late equaliser, and its still in our hands. KTF. We're going up...

(Or summat. I went watching Bradford with my mate in the away end at Accrington so who knows. They were 3 up at HT, so I banished some demons at Accy at least.)

Mentally weak. That's it in a nutshell.

Unless everything is just so (dire opposition who sit back, weather is good, pitch is good, all of our massive squad are fit) we; get bullied by a physical team and give up, don't turn up in the first half so we have to do a salvage job, get complacent in the second half and lose our way.

It's a shambles. Bad coaching and poor mentality throughout the squad. This squad should be going up comfortably if it was based on ability.

I know it looks tough after recent results but we’ve still shown in games that when we’re on it we can beat anyone. However much we complain about the defence it’s our lack of striking force that is costing us games. If we can sort that we shouldn’t be worried about anyone in this league, including Derby.

We’ve shown that when we're on it we can come back and scrape a draw.
We have not shown that we can beat anyone for months now.

How much more of a wake up call do we need?

After that first half I couldn’t believe what I was seeing with that equaliser. Why was Coleman stood so far out of his goal? Stays put they don’t score and we start to dominate again and win comfortably.

really can’t see Baxter getting back this season and we might not see Dion and Victor.

Three out of seven forwards left and that includes Cameron ffs.

Nothing we can do but it looks like playoffs

I get people’s frustrations, but we are 2 points behind derby not 22, if we are still at least 2 behind when we play them then it’s still in our hands. I couldn’t think of a better scenario than that .

At the start of February we were two points behind Derby with three games in hand. Since then we've played 10 games, only two against teams in the top seven (Barnsley, twice). We've dropped points against Wigan, Blackpool, Northampton, Exeter and Charlton.

We're now one point behind Derby, but play five of our last nine against top seven teams. We only beat two of those five teams first time around.

It's not hopeless, it's definitely not impossible. But looking across Evatt's reign our best chance at promotion is beating the lesser teams. We've fucked that and now this group is going to have to do something we haven't seen them do before.

Dont take me so literally.

I know it’s too soon but his game understanding will continue to improve and in time, he will become a captain at a higher level than this

I re-iterate, he’s the only talker on the pitch.

Tomo is definitely the most vocal by some way, I hear him from ESL - but Jones is also a talker and organiser.  Tomo barks out instructions etc while the ball is in play whereas Jones often has words with teammates when the ball is dead or there's a stoppage - presumably more constructive advice.

In a quiet team, Tomo's talking has to be a positive, but as fans we don't know if what he's saying is decent advice!  Tomo's rash tackling counts against him a bit as well, not an example to be followed.  But I'm sure that will improve with experience and I'm certain he'll be a captain at some point in the future.

Talking football sense, which you have, wont count for nothing on here. The 3  bully boys on here will have you think we are going to win the league!  I really do feel for them, they are massively deluded. My prediction is play offs, which, for what we have spent, is not good enough. Lets hope we have a massive turnaround in our results, especially away. As  Bolton fans, we all want the same thing, promotion, but im not confident.

All the top teams are playing each other not just us so if we can regroup and play as we know we can it’s still very doable for the automatics. Of course we have to win games but so do the others. It will be tough at Derby but I still believe we’re a better team than they are but we just have to show it and there’s every possibility we will.

Good shout about them being a quiet bunch. I wonder if that contributes to the decisions we've been getting against us this season, maybe not vocally claiming decisions to sway the ref.

And it must be a factor in the periods when we're rocking after a goal against. No voices to calm the team down.

Not sure making Tomo the captain will change that mind. The whole mentality of the team needs to shift. They all need to be more up for it and nastier.

We don’t have a reliable goalie and no strikers left. We could do it but we are too weak and like the second half today will get walked over
