Rizlar
Santos is our captain but he’s not a leader on the pitch and I agree with most we do not have any leaders on the pitch in this team. I still think automatics is a possibility but somehow I have lost faith in this team and now with the injuries to Baxter and Dion I think its going to be even harder still 10 more games let’s see if they can turn this around. Everyone wants the same thing but we’re a million miles away at the minute and they need to accept it. At this precise moment, the fact that they don’t is quite simply staggering. Anyway I’m watching MOTD.

But looking across Evatt's reign our best chance at promotion is beating the lesser teams. We've fucked that and now this group is going to have to do something we haven't seen them do before. That's a very good summary, whatever anyone's views on the quality of the team and success or otherwise to date, we now have to do something not seen before from this team. There is no "let's beat the teams we always beat and get a few points off the others" etc. We now need to get better than average results against the better teams. And if that's not enough for the top 2 which seems likely now, go again in the play offs where realistically it needs to be 2 wins and a draw against good teams. Hoppy
All players make mistakes no matter what division. we have 3rd division players that are making silly mistakes and a manager that states the obvious we are not world beaters we play some good football at times and it's a joy to watch but we are bloody frustrating as well but that's the difference between premier players and 3rd division players it's a frustrating business being a supporter but it can be brilliant when it goes right
Ani
The facts are win the next two and the world is a different place. Reality unfortunately however is that are going to come up short for promotion. Too many points thrown away in games we should have closed out. As summed up excellently above we are hoping that the current bunch of players can do something they have not done before and we are without a keeper and main 2 strikers. Of course we have to win games but so do the others. It will be tough at Derby but I still believe we’re a better team than they are but we just have to show it and there’s every possibility we will. I'm not clear what that's based on to be honest, I'd love it to be true but you said yourself the strikers aren't firing. The defence/keeper isn't filling us with confidence, how are we a better team than Derby? Yes we have to win games as the others do, but with the best will in the world we aren't in good form and our fixtures are harder than everyone else's. We've had the benefit of easier games and not got the cushion we needed.
RUREADY2ROLL
We spent £750,000 on a player that IE said himself we might not see the best of him this season; I hope he is wrong. But Derby had injuries up top and brought in after the window Dwight Gaile who has just scored two in two games. what is wrong with our recruitment

Collins, 26, fairly high ability ceiling: potential resale value. Gayle, 34, similar wages most likely, on the way down, no resale value. We've already got a couple falling into that bracket (Bod, Jerome), why get a third? As an aside, I'll plait shit if Jerome isn't given a coaching contract next year. The days of giving journeymen huge final pay days is hopefully long behind us.
Lostock Whites
Collins and Bod/Jerome are still more than capable of getting us the results we need. But, if we're even going to have a faint chance, the defence HAVE to improve and give us something to build on. With our 7 possible strikers worryingly reduced to just 3, we need to help them as much as possible and give them a chance to win us the game. We are scoring 2/3 goals in matches and it's still not enough to get the win (Charlton, Barnsley, Exeter) Not good enough ! marple whites
We haven’t played well for more than 45 minutes in any game all season and more often than not we have had chances to have blown a lot of teams away and not taken them - such as yesterday and second half at Barnsley. look at the hard work we made of orient at home, where again it was chalk and cheese first half v second half. we have also had so many big moments in games where we fluff our lines and then we live to regret it eg miss at Portsmouth, miss at orient, missed chances at Blackpool, dominance at Wigan. injuries have also had such a massive effect, particularly given they have been to the “spine” players. I can’t put my finger on what is exactly has been wrong this season but what I do know is that we have 9 games left and still a great chance of going up. We can worry about the ifs and maybes after. one thing I do know is if we don’t go up this season, we will have missed a really good opportunity and the landscape will look a lot different come next august. Very good post. Yesterday in the first half, it just looked like it was a case of how many we would win by, we was that dominant, what happens at half time is anyones guess? Im with you with regards to promotion. If we dont go up this season, which, personally, i dont think we will, it will be more difficult next season, and, i fear, crowds will start to dwindle. Mounts Kipper
We were out in our feet second half was unbelievable we somehow managed to scrape a point. If we don’t go up this season we’ve simply got to sacrifice the PJ trophy early doors.

Maybe we've reached the limit of our budget. My concern is the number of injuries. Are we simply over working them, especially at this point. I remember BSA barely had them training; using the science and a variety of methods that the players could choose to try to aid recovery and maintain fitness. I’ve no idea if he played more mins at Brizzle but I’d guess yes based on his stats.
