Chadderton Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 (edited) I like my IPA'S, but Poretti is a damn fine lager. Edited August 2, 2024 by Chadderton Auto spell Quote

FrancisFogarty Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 A Spanish beer brewed in Tadcaster with a picture of Eric Cantona on the label. Whatever next ? Quote

My personal favourite is Estrella Galicia but I have become very partial to Victoria Marengo Negra in recent times. You'd never be constipated with the latter! Quote

Blondi Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Italian lager is my favourite, Peroni, Moretti, also the french lager Kronenbourg is a great lager. Not too fussed about Spanish lager, but will drink San Miguel. Quote

Doesn't a bog standard German beer just piss all over these brands? I wouldn't know, I mainly drink Guinness. Saying how madri is coors makes you really cool though. Truth is it’s a perfectly adequate pint when served cold. Quote

Tomski is reet though. There are some excellent Spanish beers if you know where to look - ciders too. Quote

The place in Horwich though served it warm the other week. Not cool. Quote
London Wanderer Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Madri seems a rip off for the quality Best Brewery in the whole UK in my humble opinion. https://www.blackislebrewery Well worth picking it up if you see it in a shop. Saw it being stocked in the Lakes recently. And if for any mad reason any of you end up Inverness- get to the bar. Stunning selection on draft and wood fired pizzas. https://www.blackislebrewery.com/visit-us/inverness-bar What are people’s favourite breweries? Quote

Used to make Sneck Lifter but not seen it for a long time, supped loads of it in a pub in Coventry one time, always had a bit of a treacle toffee taste i thought. Quote
FrancisFogarty Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Jennings are in Cockermouth Cumbria. We used to take a customer to a board mill near there and one of the people we took really liked his ale. We stayed at a hotel at the other end of the town and after work we would go for a meal and a drink. Once this bloke got in the Jennings pubs we couldn’t get him out. Sneck Lifter was his favourite. Whitestar Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Over the lake District i have had Loweswaters Gold a few times, its a light golden ale and personally i think its delicious but never seen it anywhere apart from around the lakes. I found some beermats of Loweswaters Gold in a pub in Lancaster but they never had the beer and denied they had ever even heard of it , but all their beer mats on tables.🤷 Quote

Traf Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery do some fine ales, especially the stout and their 'tap' outlet is brilliant. I nipped in for a couple last night. Quote
FrancisFogarty Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 We went on a brewery trip from the Top Lock to Hawkshead brewery. They do some nice stuff. I like the Windermere Pale but I think it’s only about 3.8%. You’d drown in it before you got pissed. It’s a nice village with plenty of pubs. Quote
