Bit like when this happened and their brand name got splashed across the globe. Then by amazing coincidence their website "malfunctioned" for a bit and handed out top class seats at rock bottom prices. So the world and his wife was entering Cathay Pacific into search engines, as if the whole thing planned all along....

I’m booked on a flight with them next week. I also drive a Volvo.

Would you still drive it if their telly adverts turned a bit woke?

I’m getting another car next year. Not decided what yet. Probably another Volvo but I’ve struck the jag off the list. I have an image to maintain. 😉

Coincidentally, I was with a guy last night who has a jag. He thought the ad, like 99% of the population (probably) was a shite. He’s changing it for one of those Chinese MG,s. Didn’t ask him why.🤷‍♂️

Fair enough.

Jags used to have an exhaust that had a real manly growl to them as they shot off from the traffic lights.

It just won’t be the same when the only sound they make is similar to Duncan Norvelle asking for a cheeky chase.

Jaguar is pretty much a dying brand , sales miles Lowe than years ago. They seem to be going all in electric but my image of a Jag driver is more Arthur Daley than Greta Thunberg

I am really tempted to get one like used by the villains in The Sweeney as my daily car

Surprised no one has mentioned ‘2 Jags’ John Prescott died today. He was more famous for his punch of course but he also officially opened the Reebok Stadium. RIP.

Bugger. Just seen the other thread. The Reebok bit is new though.😊

I didn't agree with some of his ideas, especially when I was younger and more Tory aligned. But he was principled and tried his best to keep us out of Iraq but Blair had let power go to his head.

RIP 2 Jags/Jabs

Thought I read they made record revenue in the US recently? Not sure they are dying. Also they have been focusing on young professionals for a while. The whole higher end car market is struggling generally though since fewer people can afford their cars. It’s particularly tough for performance brands to transition to EV too.

They're not arsed about the 60+ owd duffer market, sticking to that market will not keep the company going especially with the switch to EVs.

They're pitching themselves at well to do big city types who want nothing to do with Tesla and Musk but want a luxury EV.

Really weird... I was in a resident's meeting last night about the repairs we are about to carry out on building cladding and I we talked around Mr Prescott and his de-regulation.

Anyway.. here it is... it was a good un and the fkkr deserved it... RIP pal, we enjoyed it

It is, but it seems to have got people talking

I’m not sure it will last more than a day or so. It’s not irritating. It’s just a bit shit with loads of fellas in dresses

It had not occurred to me before Franks synopsis on who they are pitching to and your subsequent post above.

It has now dawned on me what they are actually getting at. Jaguar are going to launch into drag racing.

RuPaul likes this.

Hence the rebrand back to its previous "core" clientele.

Comments from one of their top brass explaining it in one of the links I put up.

They've got quite a number of advance orders (well before the advert was aired), presumably because of this approach.

The performance of electric vehicles is also something which will appeal to those seeking a sports type car. Far from the initial ideas of lentil munchers' cars.

Of course some will need convincing, and it is a brave move on their part, but they will all need to follow suit eventually.

Arguably their biggest risk, is not actually being able to sell a single new car for over a year. Great if you want a brand new "second hand" car I suppose.

As an aside, Honda have completed a new "demonstrator" production line for their new solid state batteries. Supposedly putting them in their EVs in just a few years.

If all goes according to plan, then that's another game changing technological advancement.

No issue with the advert, it's just weird,

End if the day they could have some scumbag like TR market it, nobody will give a shite whis on the advert when they're driving it.

VW we're originally marketed by Nazis, nobody is driving round in a golf gti thinking "oh the advert" etc.

The left(use the term loosely) should be more enraged as they are being used to try and enrage others ..

Obviously.

He's not going to leave it on his drive.

That would be like a crazy, sign bearing toss pot with nothing better to do than stand behind mps stuck in a hissy fit for years on end.
