Whoever is the new manager, it feels like a more significant appointment than for most teams.  90% of clubs bring someone in, if he's clearly failing after 9 months etc, he's on his way, not a lot of patience is shown.

Not here, assuming no change in ownership, we know our owners will stick with their man for the long term, assuming its not a total disaster.  Take as long as you need to get this one right Sharon!

Typical response, you are the one talking shite. Why have you asked who I would bet on as our next manager ?

Because you said it's one of the easiest betting markets on which to make a profit. 🤷‍♂️

He meant in the laying market.

Obviously you can see how much the odds fluctuate as candidates get money put on them.

One minute Des Buckingham is 4/6 on. Tomorrow he will probably have drifted back out.

There's not many other markets in football where odds fluctuate and are pretty much based on who is getting bet on.

Wrexham are average if they aren't actually scoring - unlikely to dominate and look good.  But then they get a corner and head it in the net because they are just bigger and stronger, or hit a shot from the edge of the box that finds its way in.  Just good at what directly impacts on scorelines, rather than all the stuff that goes on in between the boxes.  Fletcher has been a cracking signing for them.

Birmingham look well drilled on set pieces too. Sounds like a bit of theme in league one, shame Evatt never picked up on it or how to defend against balls into the box.

Can’t help but think even went it went a bit awry last season we still looked miles better than both of these two

If someone claims there is one betting market in which they make a consistent profit, surely it's fair enough to ask what bet they're going to place? They could just tell you to fuck off, but it's only a question.

He wouldn't be betting on our next manager. He'd be laying.

Tell me you've lost a shitload of money, without telling me you've lost a shitload of money, whilst claiming you know how to beat the odds, but never giving a straight answer. Gamblers mindset. Almost as bad as smackheads.

I do not have any online gambling accounts. I have a rather complicated history with gambling so it does not work out well for me !

The point is the odds on these markets are stupidly volatile, as shown by some of the later posts on this thread.

Earlier today Schumacher was 4/6 so you you could have layed him for £40 and won £60 if he did not get the job. You can now back him at about 5/4 so if you laid him this morning you can back him at better odds than you laid him for.

As we are a League 1 club the market is obviously a lot more limited than if say Newcastle are looking and I have used the first odds I looked at rather than exchanges.

I think it was Garp who first pointed this out on here, not sure if you hear when he was making his millions gambling.

You can’t lay it, it’s a specials market not an exchange. You’d have to back every other manager in the market and there wouldn’t be enough liquidity to accumulate a decent book, cogito ergo sum - tripe

Buckingham 4/6 now, not that it means much?

Would be amazed if it's him. Wouldn't even be in the conversation if he hadn't had the fortune of meeting our spineless bottlers at Wembley.

Christ have we had the flag out ?

Not sure if you can read but I have said that for our job there is NOT an exchange market that I know of. Just used our odds as an example of how the odds change and invariably in next manager odds there red hot favourites - Mourihino at Everton and RVN at United in the links I provided.

Good you are back, I made a general comment on next manager odds. Clearly it only applies when an exchange is formed.

Read back my comments.
