I went past the Racecourse this evening. There was a Wales v Sweden no-tail international on. 6,077 had bothered to attend but the system had slipped into gear & roads were closed for no clear reason.

There's a match on the same pitch tomorrow and another (us) on Saturday lunchtime. It's a good job pitches aren't what they used to be.

Taking each game as it comes in this run of tough ones, a good, well earned point that we'd have had little expectation of a month ago.  More evidence of SS's impact on the mentality of the squad

2-1 us

Didn't realise Wrexham were playing tonight - I thought it was yesterday.

Could well work in our favour, especially with them having a shot at giving Sky the Hollywood wank-a-thon they want at Wembley.

Not a game we want to concede first in.

This game tonight for Wrexham is this for a place in the final and if so who against lost track of it all now.

Every game throws open the anticipation of who will start and in what formation.

I love the variety we are seeing at the minute, impossible to predict.

You’d think he’d want McAtee and Collins to start up front together. So that throws open either the 4-4-2 he went to at HT on Saturday. Would he want just Morley and Sheehan as a 2 in this game?

Or, if Toal’s fit reverting back to 3-5-2 and getting Tommo in there.

                   Southwood

       Toal.     Forrrester.   Johnston

Cogley          Sheehan.          Schon

             Morley.          Tommo

                  Collins. Mcatee

Toss up between Cogley and Tutu if he goes with this.

Murphy in and Tutu/Schon either side of Morley and Sheehan If he goes 4-4-2

The only other way he gets Mcatee and Collins together is in a 4-5-1 using Mcatee as the advanced midfielder.

TBH I don’t mind what he goes with, as he will clearly have a plan a rationale for using it and a way to change it up when required.

Really refreshing to see. I think it could be a great game.

Yes to play….

Birmingham …. Surprise surprise 😊

Regarding 4-4-2, Murphy has looked vulnerable in most matches, since he arrived. Wrexham (A) is not the match to try it but, at some point, I’d like to see if Inwood can do a job.

Let’s have a look at our own youngster alongside Newcastle’s.

Murphy is no world beater but he does offer height

Especially if Toal cant play, id not be 'finding out' about a kid

I think we still have a conundrum when we play 5 across the middle, we don't have a suitable option to play the lone striker.

Likewise if we put two up front we look lightweight in midfield, which isn't too bad at home, but away?? Let's see what his solution is.

I think Toal plays against Wrexham.
I've got a feeling that they're nursing him and managing the workload.
He missed the Orient game, probably plays at Wrexham and misses the Birmingham game; the Wrexham game is a bigger one for us than the Brum one.

this year, we haven't scored first in 10 of 13 games

of those 3, we scored in the first half once

a goal in the first half to take the lead would be interesting

I know we can change the game and mount a comeback, am now keen to see what we can do with an early lead - sit on it or push for more

I hope so, we look much more assured with him in the team

I’m not sure, I think Forrester and Johnston have been excellent recentlyand I wouldn’t be rushing Toal back unless he’s going with a 3. His height and that of Forino would be extremely valuable in the later stages against Wrexham when Parky throws everything into the box late in games.

Isn't that what we're doing with Murphy?

Cheers

It will be interesting to see what side Wrexham put out tonight as a place at Wembley is up for grabs.

Against us they rested quite a few first teamers as did we but tonight is a fine balancing act for Parky.

Hopefully a Peterborough win after penalties with several injuries or suspensions for Wrexham.

I think I'd rather they win tonight

Hopefully the emotion of reaching Wembley makes an after the Lord Mayor's show type performance on Saturday more likely

Are cards just for the tournament and not applicable to league games?

Yep. Hence why Thomason was allowed to play against them in the last round while he was serving a ban in the League.

Me too.

If they are anything like us they’ll also have one eye on the final and have a down-turn after the final as fatigue and injuries take their toll

Apart from their owning club it is exactly the same. You find out about youngsters by getting them involved.

Fwiw I think Murphy is decent and I see no reason to change, but I take issue with anyone who can't give youngsters a chance when needed and where they've shown promise.

Inwood I have no idea on, but Conway was one at the start of the season who should have been given a chance.

We need to get out of this cycle of never bringing through youth assets we can then sell for profit.

Cogley any day for me where you have him He has been great the last few games, especially as a proper fullback with a winger in front of him.

Tutu looks best on the left.

I would prefer to see us start against Wrexham with the 442 we started the send half on Saturday. But if it's your line up I wouldn't be upset.

I agree that they don't seem to have been given much of a chance previously. Water under the bridge now.

SS made overtures a week or two back that he would be looking more at that area, so fingers crossed they can step up in time.

Conway will have benefited from his loan, and hopefully come back ready, and give SS some more options.

Peterborough easily the better side so far, Wrexham then go 1 up from a long ball and a decent finish.
