Stockport County (H)

This is going to be a tough one as they will be up for it and try to rough us up but hopefully we will make more of an effort than we did at their place.

There’s also a rail replacement service from Manchester to Bolton for anyone travelling that route.

DIsagree. The clock starts ticking for SS in the summer. He needs a transfer window. But these derby results are massively depressing regardless of who the manager is.

He shouldn't have signed them then.

The performance overall wasn't great but there is no denying we have been well and truly been done by the ref there, that 2nd half doesn't happen if the ref was up to standard and at least reduced them to 10 men, some decisions are subjective, i get that, but when that happens after giving us nothing it just seemed like it was us v 12, why did he give Stockport the possession drop ball 1st half when we had it? if he thought Collins wasn't fouled for the penalty why no yellow for Collins for diving?? he did that quite quickly after Collins was brought down on t'other side just outside box too and he gave no foul.

there goal comes form a subs mistake and then Toal commits too much and gets done but fair play to their goalscorer, obvs you'd hope Forino could get closer but the guy was running at pace and even a slight drop of shoulder or feint can get a defender to leave space, that was well taken but shouldn't have happened had they had 10 men, different game.

not wanting to be salty or ought but that was quite evident the referee was appalling.

we try and score goals like Morley did vs Burton, we worked it low across box for Collins start of 2nd half and he blazed over and Sheehan shot down the middle at 0-1 in a similar situation, if we do that more often we will score goals.

Collins should have had a couple today. Didn't understand the subs at all. Collins should have been off, not McAtee. Randall should have been off before Morley.

Matete give the ball away that led to their goal. Subs were awful. Collings needs benching

For who ?

Probably deserved a draw. Taol was really poor today. Partly at fault for their goal, and ball watching for their other best chance. Morley and Sheehan very quiet. Randall was excellent first half but off the pace the second. Tomo did well but from a strange position. Nowt up front today.

Baxter MOM for me.

Felt a bit like Evatt ball at times....

Nah

Finish outside the playoffs & we might as well of given Evatt until the end of the season.

No excuses with this squad of players & SS will certainly be demanding we make the playoffs.

Felt a bit “Evatt” that, but it’s Evatts players.

Fantastic individual goal from their forward who was a handful in the second half. Shit from our point of view, but we’ve got nobody in our team currently that can do that. Powerful running through people and finishing well.

We didn’t deserve anything from that game, but had they been down to 10 men like they should in the first half, and we win that comfortably

Too familiar a performance that.

frustrating as hell.

really frustrating,

One up front doesnt work for us .

Just back and very disappointed

I can only describe that as a Evatt like performance. No pace in the play safe, backwards, sideways passing, very pedestrian, which led to absolutely no atmosphere

Having said all that the ref was a cunt,he gave us nothing ( pen or red card)

It’s a big failure from SS if he doesn’t take us to the playoffs.

You couldn’t trust the team to turn up though  and get past a Stockport or may be Wrexham . Summer  rebuild for me . Were probably about 6 or 7th best team in this league

Really, can't believe anyone thought they were any better than us.

Agree.

At times i felt sorry for Ian Evatt as whatever his tactics were the players were just not good enough.

Pretty shite all round except Baxter with his saves

Not seeing it with Randall

Can't complain with the result but frustrating that another ref doesn't give a clear yellow just because it would also mean a red

They missed two one-on-ones and forced another great save out of Baxter. Well on top in the second half until they scored, comfortable after it. We didn't get battered (again) but both teams got what they deserved.

Overall the collective wasn’t at it today. No point picking out players individually because they were all miles off it.

Stockport to their credit were organised, tough to break down, disciplined, tidy in midfield and had 3 big strong forwards who caused problems. A successful formula at this level that.

we’re looking so light up front it’s a worry.

think the 0-1 flattered us a bit to be honest. Baxter made 3 great saves.

Doesn’t give any confidence at all that performance that we can get the local game monkey off our back with 2 bigger ones to come..

Certainly early doors for getting into being critical of SS, he is trying to make the best of what he's been left with, which isn't suited to getting out of this league. I was a bit surprised though by the line up and I did think he let it drift a bit second half before responding, by which time their proactive changes had wrestled them into control of the game.

We woke up a bit for 10 mins after he did make the changes just after their goal but overall way too lightweight, too many looking leggy and deserved no more than we got.

He spunked millions

Good crowd local rival as per normal we lose again !

SS will be a victim of having done so well since he arrived. Today we were poor & far too reminiscent of Evatt-ball. That needs expunging.

If, & we now should, we get to the play-off it's a bonus.

Paid for 2 Madri at the express till. Collected 4. That was as good as my day got.

Rubbish. Got exactly what we deserved. Fuck all. Forino's defending for their goal was so poor. Let the striker come inside so easy. Show him onto his left foot. Fucking basics.

We turned back into an Evatt team today. Just slow passing around the back. No urgency.

We need to be much better than over these next two games of we will get beat.

Toals defending was worse. Should have been out of the pitch or just leant on to put him if his stride. Weak

They looked solid, physical and well organised. That’s it. Didn’t look overly great or anything to be too worried about.

We turn up and play well, we win that game today.

We’ve looked off it for the last two games now. Even the second half at burton was ropey at best.

If only we had another option up top along with a competent left back.

Get in to the break now, refresh and see if we’ve got the balls to do this 💪🏻
