Just paper talk, and perhaps trying to keep fans' spirits up. If he helps us get up, the rest is fluff. Quote

So Dickinson can definitely have credit for signing Whittaker! (cracking player BTW, god knows how Swansea let him go so easily). Quote

Eddie Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 Poor lad is getting some serious scrutiny. Investigative journalism, the lot! Can tell it’s off season 😂 Quote

Can tell it’s off season 😂 I re-watched the Lincoln game to get a better idea of Roughan and to be honest whilst he was ok, I wouldn’t say he was much better than what I’ve seen from Max Conway so far. More of a full back/wing back than in the centre but wasn’t afraid to go into a tackle and can put a cross in so could be a good signing at his age if it comes off. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 Conway has had his option renewed iirc, and I'm sure he'll get the opportunity to show SS what he can do. Nowt wrong with having a couple of options there. Quote

Fair play, that’s some serious dedication - I’ve not a single idea what either player is like. Wouldn’t know either if I fell over them. Hopefully they’re over 6ft - my one criteria to fit into my desired team of fucking giants! Quote

He played against us in April. So he was fit. He'll do. Quote

That lad on the youth match video appeared to have potential, and was a decent size too. I do wonder whether SS will still be prepared to use 5 at the back on occasions too. Flexibility being key. Well sadly they won’t fit then Eddie because neither are near 6 foot giants but if we can get big guys down the spine of the team we probably wouldn’t need these two to be? Quote

Arrested development Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 It worries me that we are going after a 5 ft 8 centre half, especially when Forrester and Johnston aren't exactly towering. I wants units at centre half. We need a proper partner for Forino. Quote

Shame but I’ll let him off if he’s going to be our left back and as you say is alongside a spine of units. From my 2 minute research of him, I found a Lincoln fan site article on him that was basically idolising him (and asking why their fans don’t sing his name more) in which it described him as “absolutely no-nonsense, he looks a miserable sod on the pitch, and he’s stoic in his interviews, stoney faced and always 100% focused.” Based on that, I’ll have him. I just want our left centre back to now be over 6ft3 to compensate on my average height metric. Quote
