well that's what it seems like but from all the names that have been chucked out as their best players in that team that got promoted, he didn't sign most of them

there's nothing I can see that suggests he's a transfer king or anything like that

none of this is crtiscm or anything, but based on my own research so far, I am not sure why he's called the transfer king

I'm going to ask Iles why, he's the one that started all this

Maybe reading too much into that!

Just paper talk, and perhaps trying to keep fans' spirits up.

If he helps us get up, the rest is fluff.

Seems that is exactly what it was

To be fair, he presumably identified Whittaker, Mumba, and Fin Azaz that summer, and each were instrumental in their promotion

Mumba and Whittaker were both signed permanently after the season ended (Whittaker then ended up signing for Middlesbrough for a fee of £5M plus)

Azaz re-signed on loan the following season and has since also moved to Middlesbrough

All three have succeeded in the Championship

May 2022

TBF Wiki says they got him on a season long loan in summer 2022 (he was at Lincoln Jan 2022 to end of season)

they signed him permanent after they go promoted

Thanks for correction, I saw he'd gone on loan 2022 but you're right it was Lincoln not Plymouth.

So Dickinson can definitely have credit for signing Whittaker! (cracking player BTW, god knows how Swansea let him go so easily).

Sean Roughan, seen at stadium today hopefully it will go well

Who saw him ?

How did they know him ?

Honestly he could come & help me do my patio, tell me his name & show me some photos & I'd not know him.

Poor lad is getting some serious scrutiny. Investigative journalism, the lot! Can tell it’s off season 😂

I re-watched the Lincoln game to get a better idea of Roughan and to be honest whilst he was ok, I wouldn’t say he was much better than what I’ve seen from Max Conway so far. More of a full back/wing back than in the centre but wasn’t afraid to go into a tackle and can put a cross in so could be a good signing at his age if it comes off.

Conway has had his option renewed iirc, and I'm sure he'll get the opportunity to show SS what he can do.

Nowt wrong with having a couple of options there.

Aye, now another RB please

You did what!? Fair play, that’s some serious dedication - I’ve not a single idea what either player is like. Wouldn’t know either if I fell over them. Hopefully they’re over 6ft - my one criteria to fit into my desired team of fucking giants!

TBH Roughan is already ticking all the boxes.  He played against us in April.  So he was fit.  He'll do.

What do you reckon- Forester maybe capable if needs must?

That lad on the youth match video appeared to have potential, and was a decent size too.

I do wonder whether SS will still be prepared to use 5 at the back on occasions too. Flexibility being key.

no, a proven RB

I've never seen Forrester play anywhere other than the middle, so he can stay there

Well sadly they won’t fit then Eddie because neither are near 6 foot giants but if we can get big guys down the spine of the team we probably wouldn’t need these two to be?

It worries me that we are going after a 5 ft 8 centre half, especially when Forrester and Johnston aren't exactly towering. I wants units at centre half. We need a proper partner for Forino.

You referring to Roughian?

He's a left back isn't he?

But can play in middle if needs?

Shame but I’ll let him off if he’s going to be our left back and as you say is alongside a spine of units.

From my 2 minute research of him, I found a Lincoln fan site article on him that was basically idolising him (and asking why their fans don’t sing his name more) in which it described him as “absolutely no-nonsense, he looks a miserable sod on the pitch, and he’s stoic in his interviews, stoney faced and always 100% focused.”

Based on that, I’ll have him. I just want our left centre back to now be over 6ft3 to compensate on my average height metric.
