Seems the board have not learned from past mistakes. Two or more for one vacancy never ends well

Simple only one is needed  This Dickinson is not needed

Stick with this one.

Not sure they are doing the same job.

In fact, I'm pretty confident that FV wouldn't do that.

I reckon there is more chance of a clash between Fergal and SS.

Anyway, maybe we should just see what happens, before condemnation.

So, is this Dickinson not the real deal?

Not got a clue, was part of Lowe camp that moved from Bury to Plymouth

He’s had 30 goal contributions over the last 2 seasons I read earlier. I still think we can coax as player out of him. I reckon with a good set of the lads he could be dynamite. I don’t think it takes a lot for his head to go though

aye, I've not given up on him yet, when SS had us playing well, he was scoring and playing well

he'll have part to play if we're up there challenging

It seems like SS is getting his friends into the club: we don’t need a Head of recruitment and sporting director. If we have money to waste then spend it on players

Why not?

Clubs have always had scouts. In recent years, with technology in sport, specialists can assess potential targets.

Clearly it doesn't always work, but there is a reason clubs use it.

None more so than Big Sam with all sorts of people supporting.

I’ve no problem with Schey bringing in people he’s knows and trusts.
I’d think we need all the assistance we can get presently.

That's worked well the past couple of years

I imagine SS has sat down with the Board and said to maximise chances on success I need XYZ, and the Board have agreed to fund that, either fully or in part.
This new position will be part of the above and SS will stand or fall based on the success of what he asked for.
Let’s be honest if tbh is guy was in place in Jan neither Randal or the lad from Cardiff would have been here and that would have more than covered the cost of employing him.
This assumes the guy knows his job and like anyone outside the club could see they were mad deals to do.

ok

so what has he done to be regarded as a "transfer king"

Recruited the Plymouth squad that beat us to promotion in 2022/23? And Ipswich to the title!

Which means ?

I thought these people controlled recruitment of players ?

He'll be involved in recruitment but is in charge of the whole footballing operation at the club

Not a great deal, although he was promoted to Head of Recruitment in the summer of the season Schumacher went on to win the league

Since then, it seems recruitment down there has been less than successful (although it might be in part due to lacking the finances to compete at the second tier)

And some people are better at their job, than others.

People are talking as if he’s Schumacher’s man. However, it seems as if he was Ryan Lowe’s man at Bury and Plymouth. Schumacher inherited working with him, but he didn’t follow Schumacher to Stoke.

Sure, he probably respects his work and put it a good word. But, I assume, he’ll work for Fergal, rather than Schumacher.
