bwfc4ife Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Like I’ve said numerous times, it’s about consistency and we don’t have any. I think Burstow buries that chance despite his lack of a goal. We need a bit of new blood early in the window and a plan B. Quote

CambridgeBWFC Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 (edited) It is hard to know what to change, other than a better striker (or right one on for the right chances/service) as not much else was lacking we dominated, passed them to pieces and created chances. I agree with @Cheese on another night it is 4-0, our fortunes have to (need to) start changing soon. Edited December 29, 2025 by CambridgeBWFC Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 I hadn't looked. I feared this. We're a good team with limited incision. Quote

Need to improve our away form to at least take the pressure off home matches. Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 You've to be defensively bombproof to Burnley's levels of last season to get away with wasting as many situations, hitting the target so rarely and scoring as few goals as we do. There'll be days/nights like tonight where those late late shows don't materialise. We saw many of them under the previous regime. We've been stumbling for a few weeks now, players flying early doors having gone off it, the replacement options not showing enough, others SS has decided he's seen enough of. . Quote

Nothing to worry about really, and our home record had to end at some point. But let the meltdowns ensue. Can't keep blaming refs and not sure how many other days we win that type of low block game 4-0 Quote

We should've been 2 or 3 up by half time. Terrible result, but there wasn't much wrong with the performance. Shit happens. Quote

I agree our home record had to end at some point It just highlights our away form needs to pick up at some point We've gone from nearly being top two on boxing day to nearly being out the top six tonight The refs an easy target though, he didn't lose us that game, our inability ability to take our chances did Quote

The thing is, I swear we've been saying this since early 2024 when the wheels came off Evattball Fine if we're grinding out away victories, but we really haven't done that for 2 years either Edited December 29, 2025 by jmjhb Quote
Dr Faustus Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Well that stops the incessant focus on our home record. Who knows, could be a good thing. Shit fan tonight, biggest shocker was from the producers and flicking between camera angles. On another day we score 5+) yeah we need someone to do that, hopefully comes in next month… we go again Quote
masi 51 Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Same players score in this league week in week out with very limited ability Wooton, Fletcher, Reid We need a battering ram type forward Quote

Our poor finishing was responsible for that. But we've played dogshit and won games before, and we'll do it again. Just one of those things. Sometimes you're on the wrong side of a smash-and-grab. Eavesy Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 The warning signs have been there for months. Ignoring that we have been shite was absolutely stupid and should have been addressed. Playing Randall because he got booed. He spent the entire match getting marked. He never gets the ball in the number 10 position because he goes hiding because he is utter shite. And he knows it. RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 I have to say its easy for even poor teams to defend floated crosses when we have only one player anywhere near the goal and no one gambling on a knock down. Even on corners, they scored because they put 3 big players in our 6 yard box to cause confusion, we on the other hand have ours about 12 yards out rarely pressurising their keeper. Quote
Popular Post Tombwfc Posted December 29, 2025 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2025 We're 22 games into the season and still bleating about how we are the 'on another day' runaway league leaders. The 'best squad in the league' has spent 0 days in the top two and is now 7 points adrift of Lincoln City. To get to 92 points we need to go at 2.3ppg across the next 24 and we haven't looked remotely like stringing that kind of form together. We've won two away games and still have to visit all of the top three. Still time and a window to change things, but the facts are we've been miles off it. If the alarm bells aren't ringing now you're not paying attention. Quote
