We’ve been there for a day trip but didn’t find it had anywhere near as much going on as Paphos or Protaras (though I prefer Paphos out of those two as it’s got a few more tavernas and the like) I like it more, because it has that city vibe as well as the beach hotels. Plus you can reach both West & East coasts easily. Quote

Send me the details if you like. Costs nothing to ask 😉 Quote

ianofcleveleys Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Looking to do something first half of Feb for a week, short haul, somewhere warm enough to sit around a pool / terrace / bar if poss. Canaries obvious though not big fans apart from Lanzarote and been there a few times. Anyone any experience of places like Malta, Madeira, Cyprus, Costas around that time of year? We were in Malaga in early Dec, was a nice 19-20c, very good city break if you like those sorts of holidays, lots to see, restaurants etc Quote

Can head out to Pompeii as well if you're into that sort of thing. Couldn't do more than a few nights then I'd need to be off down the coast somewhere quieter. Quote

MancWanderer Posted Thursday at 22:24 Author Posted Thursday at 22:24 Naples is good but not for the faint-hearted. Lively is a decent description and a great base for seeing Pompei, etc. But, blimey, you need your wits about you. Crossing the road is an experience . I agree with @London Wanderer it’s probably only a couple of days you need. After that you need to chill out!! Quote
MancWanderer Posted Thursday at 22:29 Author Posted Thursday at 22:29 Reet. Croatia recommendations please. North to be specific not down Split/Dubrovnik way. More somewhere flying into Pula Did Rovinj the other year so that’s out. Was looking at Porec and foolishly copied Mrs into my comms with @Traf. Porec doesn’t suit her. Anyone been anywhere in that Northern part of Croatia that you can recommend? Quote
