If he has he ought to show Josh how to take them because he’s has zero idea. He mentioned the other week that he only got given a chance to take them in training recently, and everyone was surprised how good he was, so he started staying out practicing them when everyone else had fucked off. Who'd have thought that might be a good idea eh? Was Sheehan's 1st man or keepers arms not good enough like? Some people are never happy. Quote

Cheers cheese, good for him then, it shows practise makes perfect. Maybe the strikers could stay behind for their shooting? Quote

There's also an argument that Kenny needs more starts to show what he can do Chicken and egg. He needs to show what he can do in order to get more starts. Like Dalby had to, and McAtee. Hard to justify why Kenny would start above Burstow, based on form. Although to be fair he's "on form" because 2 players (Rodriguez and Gale) have passed/crossed to him in front of goal, instead of either shooting or misdirecting a cross or pass. We can count the number of times that's happened this season on one hand probably. Burstow's "on form" because we've created 2 chances for him and got a penalty. He was "off form" because we failed to create anything for him (except the miss at Wigan) and didn't get any pens. We change perception of players sometimes based on stuff that's completely out of their control. Quote
deeane Koontz Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Reckon Apter will take off goal-wise once he gets one. Gets in really good positions but Seems to snatch at stuff at the minute. Quote

I think this is where you have to take in some of the unknown stuff we aren’t aware of. Surely SS has seen evidence - previously and in training - that Kenny can produce the goods. And/Or he might still be haunted by the time Burstow/Dalby were partnered together away at Burton - one of the most inept forward partnerships I’ve seen in a while. Don’t think it’s a justification criticism that’s valid today. Quote

It does seem incredible, even by our standards of getting injuries, that a few weeks after appearing to have an embarrassment of attacking riches, 3 more (McAtee, Rodriguez, CBT) are now injured to add to ACD. And Conway out of the team takes away a bit more attacking potential. Let's hope we're gearing up for a full strength attacking line up by the time the play offs come round. Having those 4 fit and available could make a heck of a difference. Quote

From the little I've seen of him, Rodriguez will make a lot of proper chances for our strikers, who lets be honest have fed of scraps regardless of the amount of shot a we have. Quote

Don’t think it’s a justification criticism that’s valid today. Yes fair enough, I literally don't care who starts up front from those available, purely because none of us (SS included) knows which player will be on form from one game to the next. I'll leave it to SS. I was just commenting (before I'd seen the line up) that it would be hard to make a preference for Kenny over Burstow based on form. There will be other reasons - style of play etc, for picking one over another because if it was just about playing well Dempsey wouldn't have been dropped. Quote

Wanderlust Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Kenny should be getting somewhere near match fit by now so I’m hoping for great things from him. Quote
Wanderlust Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Great stuff. Gale loses it first time he receives it, Sheehan slides in and passes to their 10, winger has Tutu on toast and we handle the resulting FK in our own box - fortunately considered accidental. Fuck sake wake up. Quote
