But if you ring picture loan, don't bother deciding how much you want before you ring, decide with your partner while you're on the phone!
aidybwfc Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 what about that company were if you borrow 10,000 i think you pay back about 35,000 but bear in mind if you dont pay back the first repayment, i think they take everything you own off you!!!!

MickyD Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Are these not homeowner ones ? Yes. Maybe you should be asking if anyone could lend you their house.

Get internet banking.....it's the present

stevieb Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 dont consolidate mate. Write to your individual creditors with a monthly income and expenditure (i lied like fcuk on mine) and a pro rata calculation of what you can afford to pay each creditor and mention you will review this every, say, 6 months with a view to increasing payments blah blah blah. They will accept this as its better than nowt and will pester you to increase your payments every so often even by 13p a month. Dont budge if you cant afford it and just resend the income and expenditure to them. In some instances they will freeze any interest (all but MBNA have done for me, ragging half time wenches saying i was on ?23k when i was 18 on ?40 a week part time!!!!!!) and then just keep paying as much as you can (or can be arsed). Good tip for you would be to read www.moneysavingexpert.com forum called debt free wannabe. Theres some right nob heads on it but its got a few good tips and template letters and stuff. HTH!
HoldensHairdo Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 Is student loans not interest free? The student loans are but i have a seperate loan and credit cards to consolidate - not too fussed about the student loan. owe about ?6k in total. not a lot but would prefer it all in one pot with one payment.
Smiffs Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Did it not dawn on you that one day you have to pay it back?

I think I've found your problem!
Sweep Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Did it not dawn on you that one day you have to pay it back? Sadly, it doesn't dawn on may folk. A bloke I know was telling me at weekend, that he currently has just over ?10K on credit cards, he is nearly 40 years old, lives in a mates spare room, flits in and out of jobs like you wouldn't believe, and on top of that is struggling to pay the minimum on his cards on a monthly basis. I asked what he had spent the cash on, his response................."this and that, clothes and going down the pub and stuff" - what a nobber that bloke is. Mrs CWPs cousin is always skint, so what does she do, she gets down the cash point with her credit card and then draws out ?50/?100 per time to go on the booze with. She has about ?5K on her credit card, which is at a whopping great interest charge, as she is drawing cash. Some people really are a bit numb

Now its just the slump in house prices that's giving me sleepless nights.
Smiffs Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 That'll be your mate Gordon. Raping the housing market and the people within it, then letting you pick up the shit when it all goes wobbly. I did tell you, but you wouldn't listen.

Winchester White Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Jesus - I get nervous with ?600 on my credit card! Now its just the slump in house prices that's giving me sleepless nights. Why will a slump in house prices affect you? Unless of course if your fixed rate 125% mortgage is nearly up does a dip in the market really affect most people? House prices have been ragging stupidly high for years and could do with coming down to a reasonable level. Pity no fucker can get a mortgage now though unless you have a huge deposit...
Zico Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Did it not dawn on you that one day you have to pay it back? aye, but whether you like students or not, if you can get ?xxxx.xx for going on the p?ss with just for applying for it and paying back in about 10 years at lowest interest rate you'll see, you do it I did f?cking great it was the fruit machine and bookie sessions meant I survived without having to get a job or credit card to further finance 4 years of f?cking about weird thing is in general I have less money now than I did then, or certainly not as much to p?ss up the wall

No, got 3 1/2 more years left on the fixed rate. Its just we might want to move in a year or so and if the market is in panic we might not be able to sell. I might be stuck in Crawley forever!!!!
stevieb Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 i had about 8k or just under, got it down to about 3800-4000 since about 18 month ago (when i started paying the fuckers back properly!) Im gonna increase my payments starting 1st of may again and plan to be debt free by this time next year. Just in time for a sick 24th birthday costing a fortune! :::::::: And its true. Pissed out my face in guimaraes square the last thing i was thinking was 'i wonder if i can meet the minimum payment once this ?2500 card has been maxed, to match the other 4!!!!!' Mine went on beer and not much else. My dad feared i was addicted to crack or summat when i told him how much i had spent and he seen how little posessions i had! Its 50-50 whether id do it all again given the chance as well!
SatanGreavsie Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Just in time for a sick 24th birthday what, is it Nazi fancy dress or summat?
